    JOAN GUZMAN poor champion

i have been reading news about joan guzman and this guy trash talks alot. i dont know if the reporters are responsible for it or if he is really that frustrated that's why he is putting on a mayweather stunt. ok this guy is the champion but howcome he's never been in a big fight. the last fight that i saw him was with sotto. yeah sotto can't do **** because guzman was circling around the ring. the way guzman fought was like a copycat of mayweather's which fans nowadays doesn't want. he says he's been ducked by a lot of fighters. but is it really because he is good or is it because his style bore his opponents? now he gave up his 130 belt and is moving to 135 yet no fights. i dont know what his career will be but as of right now he is still a nobody.

He's had a few unfortunate things occur that prevented him from bigger fights. Last fight with Arthur, Warren wanted nothing to do with Guzman so they delayed the fight as long as possible. Prior to Soto he had a fight lined up with Michael Katsidis but broke his hand. The rescheduling of the fight fell apart. Also, Pacquaio was supposedly going to fight him, even so there was talk of the fight being in Canada. Pacman's promoter said after Guzman's fight with Soto that he blew his shot because he didn't knock Soto out.

Also, earlier in his career he had very poor managers/promoters that did a horrible job getting him fights.

And his style might not be appealing to everyone but that doesn't make him a bad fighter. He's a great fighter and imo, one of the most talented fighters out right now.

Additionally I think he lost some of his power as he's gone up at weight. When he was fighting at 122 is where he got the nickname "lil Tyson", at the higher weight classes he doesn't have that kind of power, so he has to rely on his boxing abilities so perhaps he lost some of the appeal he once had.

I don't really like Guzman that much, but what you said is the truth. There are definitely less talented boxers getting a bigger push than him.

i think joan is a good fighter, fast, and slick. but maybe that's the style fighters dont want to fight. most fighters want to ****. the guys in joan's weight division are all toe to toe fighters. even marquez who is a counter puncher stands toe to toe at times. even mayweather put up a great action when he was in the lower weight class. so my guess is joan's style is not the style guys in his division wants.

Mayan Sun swears that Guzman would knock Pacman the **** out. Pacman climbed 7 weight classes and still has his power. Why is it that Guzman has lost alot of power climbing 2 weights?

** He's still got the horrible managers, but there's nothing wrong with his style, just his discipline.

Must not pay attention because Guzman's pulled out of two fights against Warren champs because of weight problems and then moved up to the next division.

He'll continue to be a short money fighter until he buckles down and gets some decent management that knows how to handle him. There is no reason whatsoever why he shouldn't be the Ring #1 p4p other than poor management and poor discipline.

Arum may be a prick, but he ain't ****** in matchmaking. Guzman has the goods to upset Manny, but could he even make the contracted weight? Few really wants to invest in a guy like that who is gonna cost them money by pulling out of fights for being too fat.

Nah, I paid very close attention to what was going on against Arthur/Warren and there was no reason whatsoever for the fight to be cancelled. Guzman was ready and they left him waiting without a word for two weeks and Guzman is stuck extending his training and staying at 130. So he said **** it and left. And why blame him? Who the hell is left in the division? Not a single name worth fighting after Marquez and Pacman went up.

And Guzman hasn't canceled a fight due to weight. You have it wrong.
