pavlik vs calzaghe= serious beating for Joe

After finally getting to see Pavlik vs McKart and witnessing how Kelly would deal with a decent southpaw if these two go at it I see a serious beating for Joe and a late stoppage victory for Youngstown's finest The Ghost! If you disagree please explain..

McKart is not in the same league as Calzaghe and he was past his prime. Plus Calzaghe is a very unorthodox southpaw, totally different style from McKart.

while what you say is true my point is that the southpaw stance and general issues that most orthodox fighters have with southpaws didnt really effect Pavlik form executing what he does best jab, come forward **** you everywhere and break you down. Pavlik showed me that he doesnt really have a problem either defensively or offensively with Southpaws and I honestly think he will overwhelm Joe.

Calzaghe is a natural 168-pounder who is now fighting as a light-heavyweight. McKart's best days were at 154 and were well behind him by the time he fought Pavlik.

While he did beat McKart, he did get hit a few times and for the majority of the fight, he couldn't get any clean shots in on McKart himself, he was simply outworking McKart. I'm not sure whether the McKart fight is a good indication of him fighting a southpaw.

JoCal doesn't protect his head very well and i think pavlik is going to destroy him with those deadly straight rights.

So because Pavlik beat a southpaw who isn't that good anymore, he can beat any southpaw that's put in front of him?

Jeff Lacy spent a lot of time sparring with Winky Wright before the Calzaghe fight. Even though Calzaghe and Wright are both southpaws (and were at the time 2 of the best 3 southpaws p4p) their styles are quite different and as the Calzaghe-Lacy fight showed, experience with one southpaw is no guarantee of succeeding against another.

I am sure it will be easy night for Calzaghe if he plays it safe.. He can box circles around Pavlik..

If he trades.. I have less faith in him winning..

Comparing McKart to Calzaghe is absurd. I'm sure even Pavlik would admit that.
