While he did beat McKart, he did get hit a few times and for the majority of the fight, he couldn't get any clean shots in on McKart himself, he was simply outworking McKart. I'm not sure whether the McKart fight is a good indication of him fighting a southpaw.

He made a lot of solid contact on McKart, just not the highlight reel stuff. Check out Mckart's face at the end of that fight and what McKart said about him. Pavlik has also improved a lot since that fight. Beating Zertuche impressively, destroying Edison Miranda completely, KO'd Taylor and when Taylor looked pretty good in this fight. Then he outboxes Taylor in a fight Taylor also performed well in again. I just don't see Joe able to take the punishment that Pavlik will unleash.

I just implied that the Southpaw style is handled well by Pavlik and that I think he should have no problem pummeling Joe to a beating. Not having seen him face a southpaw was really the only thing holdin me back from a predicton. I will say Calzaghe has some good handspeed and is capable of proving me wrong I just don't think he can do it, dont think he can handle the pressure from a guy like Pavlik.

You're assuming that Pavlik would be able to catch Calzaghe repeatedly, I doubt he would be able to catch Calzaghe as many times as he did with his previous opponents.

Calzaghe is on a different level from Pavlik's opponents so far.
