Even so this will be a competitive fight for mayweather he wont risk fighting cotto for less money and more risk because of floyds age and inactivity he will lose to cotto its his own fault.
First, you can't spell so I'm not sure you can read, but......

....you do realize Malignaggi was a 6-1 underdog going into the fight with Cotto. Ricardo Torres took the fight on short notice and had Cotto hurt. Zab Judah in the most talented head case since Mike Tyson, but is a threat to nobody. Corley is the definition of gatekeeper....

People want to make it seem like Cotto has all these world beaters on his resume when he doesn't.

True, Baldomir did take out Judah, but that still doesn't change the fact that Gomez is not a top 10 fighter.

The Contender had a number of fighters that Cotto could have fought.

You're absolutely right. Gomez was no where near a top 10 fighter, but Baldomir sure as hell wasnt the best WW in the world once he beat Judah. Do u see now how decieving rankings can be? You become the best by fighting the best. Beating a journeyman with 9 losses doesnt make u the best WW in the world, regardless of the titles you pick in the process.

aint everyone allowed to take an easy fight? as long as it isn't more than once. i find it amusing how cotto detractors continue to talk about the gomez fight as if that was his last fight ever. lets ignore the fact that it was a set up for Cotto/Margarito which is a great style match up that could be costly for Cotto. Lets ignore the fact that Cotto normally fights 3 times a year and looks to do that this year too.

if cotto only fought once or twice a year and his opponents were Gomez, then another unranked welter, then I would be making Cotto hate threads too. but he isnt so thats that gaaaaaaaangsta.

I'm a fan of both fighters, but can you imagine if Mayweather even entertained the thought of fighting Gomez. He'd be laughed out of the sport.
                      Cotto's next fight: Margarito
Mayweather's next fight: DLH and Hatton lolz..
