Floyd fans really did get owned by this thread it doesnt make floyd look bad since the only stay busy fight cotto has had is gomez once he broke top 10 while floyd has fought worser fighters like gatti who shudnet of gone to welterwieght and baldomir lol.
Even so this will be a competitive fight for mayweather he wont risk fighting cotto for less money and more risk because of floyds age and inactivity he will lose to cotto its his own fault.

You're absolutely right. Gomez was no where near a top 10 fighter, but Baldomir sure as hell wasnt the best WW in the world once he beat Judah. Do u see now how decieving rankings can be? You become the best by fighting the best. Beating a journeyman with 9 losses doesnt make u the best WW in the world, regardless of the titles you pick in the process.

aint everyone allowed to take an easy fight? as long as it isn't more than once. i find it amusing how cotto detractors continue to talk about the gomez fight as if that was his last fight ever. lets ignore the fact that it was a set up for Cotto/Margarito which is a great style match up that could be costly for Cotto. Lets ignore the fact that Cotto normally fights 3 times a year and looks to do that this year too.

I'm a fan of both fighters, but can you imagine if Mayweather even entertained the thought of fighting Gomez. He'd be laughed out of the sport.
