You still havent shown me where i tried to justify Cotto/Gomez. I called it for what it was, and that was a "stay busy" fight while he awaits the winner of Cintron/Margarito. Look now. Cotto is fighting the guy Floyd ducked. U have to admit, Floyd isnt looking too good in the eyes of those who follow the sport.

I stopped entertaining a Cotto vs Mayweather fight until the smoke clears after September. I'm happy with Cotto vs Margarita right now.

But my question is, if and when Cotto beats Margarito...who do Floyd fans think Cotto should fight next? There's all this talk about Cotto not being ready, doesn't bring enough money to the table, etc. But realistically, who is there left for Cotto to fight that he hasn't already beat?

By September Cotto's resume should read:

Cotto def Margarito (KO or UD?)
        Cotto def Gomez (TKO)
        Cotto def Mosley (UD)
        Cotto def Judah (TKO)
        Cotto def Quintana (TKO)

Bold = Former or current Welterweight strap holders)

So at that point, there's only 1 fight that makes sense. Floyd fans can make all the excuses they want...but the proof is in the pudding and the general public are starting to take notice a lot quicker than i thought.

If I were Arum I'd make sure Floyd got front row seats to July's fight w/ a complimentary corndog

This is a good post. The real question that I have is, "Will Arum offer Floyd the fight?" That is the real question. A lot of people forget about the business side of boxing. I mean it is what it is. A lot of times, people get harassed for talking about the money side of things, but that is what these dudes get PAID for. My question is, will Arum continue to talk about how scared Floyd is, or will he make a REAL offer? We know that Floyd is trying to cash out right now. Therefore, if Arum really thinks that Cotto is the one to beat him, he needs to put the money up to back up ALL of his talk. I know Cotto wants to fight Mayweather, but does Arum REALLY want Cotto to fight Floyd? I mean if Arum was so serious, why hasn't he offered Mayweather the fight???

During an interview with G.Leon on Btalk, Bob Arum was asked the same question, and his reply was: "We all saw what happened the last time i made an offer to Floyd. When Floyd shows interest in the fight, then we can talk numbers" I'll try to find the transcripts to that interview.

would you offer someone a fight who has offered 100 excuses why he won't fight your fighter previous to you offering a fight? floyd is shooting himself in both feet repeatedly. not only does he look like an ******* to the real fans of boxing but now the public in general with his counterfeit money throwing scheme. dudes a douche and he's scared because like rl_gma said - what other fight makes sense?

I think arum is not going to offer Mayweather the Cotto fight when he knows he can get away with accusing him of ducking Cotto, he would build the fight up without actually doing the fight. I bet if Cotto was a free agent he would have more control in chasing a Mayweather fight.
