A 43 year old career Middleweight is not the most credible win for Joe at 175..

    You're a ***** if you believe that..

It was par for the course for him..TAKE THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE.

Dawson would have knocked B-Hops old ass smooth the **** out..

    But,

Joe could only flail slap at the air..he never once landed anything worth a ****..and got put on his ass and hurt on several occasions..

Dawson would put Joe to sleep flat on his back..

The fight wasn't all that good. They both looked very beatable, I scored it a draw. So if it leaned towards Calziggy a bit...so be it. He didn't exactly thrill anybody while winning except his diehard fans and his daddy Calziggy.

Well, it matters if you're talking about P4P and all of that stuff. He won so he's the champ and anyone worth their weight in legitimacy has to respect the guys who win their supremacy in the ring instead of at Bob Arum's press conferences.

That said, you absolutely have to be impressive when you're near the top of the P4P charts if you don't want people to **** all over your every move. Calzaghe wasn't all that impressive. So, he's getting a lot of criticism for a less than convincing win over a very good (though very old) opponent.

When people hate you for mostly irrational reasons that means you're sitting on top of the boxing world.

It's fairly obvious really. He barely got by a 43 year old guy. He got knocked down in the 1st round by him. His performance was enough to get him the victory over Hopkins IMO but left questions in my mind as to how good a fighter Calzaghe is. I can't speak for others but this is my rationale in downgrading not his victory but his perceived skills as a fighter. Had he fought Hopkins 41 years old or younger I think he would've lost big time by wide UD or even by stoppage. If he fought Roy Jones Jr a few years back he would have gotten stopped most definitely. I think he's a classic case of fighter who's in his prime fighting competition on the way down. There's just no question in my mind prime for prime who's the better fighter.

People downgrade the win because people upgrade the win beyond proportions.

There is no middle ground on boxingscene. You are either supporting one side or the other. Both sides are exaggerating to the extent it becomes laughable.

                      That goes both ways.

                      And it's a neverending circle.

                      Like a huge ****ing circle:wank:
