Calzaghe kind of ****ed up that night because he made it harder on himself because he fought Hopkins kind of fight and not Calzaghes kind of fight. He fell into hopkins dirty cheating ways. Thats the problem with Calzaghe he really struggles against boxers who don't come to box but just rough house. Thats his kryptonite, thats why if there were better refs we wouldn't have to deal with fighters who didn't come to box but came to use there heads
Who really won Gayweather vs Castillo 1?

Personally, I think people make to big of deals when heads come together. I think Rabbit Punches and low blows (intentional, not Joe's) are much worse.
People said Campbell was a dirty fighter in the Diaz fight because they kept headbutting. If their heads come together and someone doesn't throw their head at another I think it shouldn't be made as big of a deal as people make it out to to be.Comment

I've seen a few Pacquiao fights where there's been a clash of heads, so I agree that sometimes a southpaw, particularly an aggressive one like Pac, is going to have accidental headbutts. In most cases though it's usually the older, more experienced fighters such as Holyfield and Hopkins who are likely to be involved in and benefit from an 'accidental' clash of heads. Hopkins deliberately leads with his head and that's something that seems less common among younger fighters.Personally, I think people make to big of deals when heads come together. I don't claim to be an expert and it's possible that there are fighters/fights that I'm overlooking, but that's how it seems to me.Comment

Well yes, but I also think it's so you aren't open to a counter to the face. Holyfield and Hopkins both kept their chins tuck when looking to the floor so they don't get countered. The heads just come together and they know that, but are willing to do it.Comment

Actually there were several that scored it 115-111. If you do your research, most boxing experts did score it 115-111.
The Judge’s scores read as follows:
John Keane of England – 115-111 for Mayweather
Jerry Roth of Nevada- 115-111 for Mayweather
Anek Hongtongkam of Thailand-116-111 for Mayweather
Harold Lederman of HBO had it-115-111 for Castillo.
All the announcers, including Foreman had Castillo ahead.
My score was 116-111 for Castillo.
The Punch Stats:
Castillo Mayweather
203 Thrown 157
506 Landed 448
40% Percentage 35%
Power Punching Stats:
Castillo Mayweather
173 Landed 66
377 Thrown 151
46% Percentage 44%
The audience booed the decision very adamantly. The point is the Mayweather was supposed to win, so the judges made it happen.Comment

Punch stats are horrible in aruging that fact as Castillo's punches were mostly blocked. I don't have people scoring it for Castillo, but 115-111 is an insane score.
Mayweather won that fight in my eyes and others so it had little to do with him living in Las Vegas/Comment
