now can you explain why you would rate Joe higher? you keep critising my list when i say its not perfect, yet you do not make your own...
Let's look at your points. I'll take point 3 first, because it's so ******.
I ask you why Tszyu has a better resume, and the evidence you offer is "much more of a solid resume than Joe". It's as logical as saying "it is because it is". ******, really really ******.
Anyway
- undisputed LWW champ
- great KO of Judah
Judah was a good fighter, and it's a very good win. However I think that the win over Hopkins is worth more. It wasn't as convincing, but it was over a far better opponent.
Even if you give the Judah win a slight edge, Calzaghe is often criticised for fighting B/C level guys. Well, Tszyu lost to a guy who was B/C level, and it was by KO(which is worth more in your book, right?).
Losing to a guy like that in your prime IS a big deal. Beating the best fighter in a second division IS a big deal. Things like this are part of why I rate Calzaghe higher. Another factor is that Calzaghe has been a world champion for longer. 1997-now. Tszyu was a world champion from 95-97, and 2000-2005. The longevity and consistency Calzaghe showed are another advantage he has over Tszyu.

Tszyu was undisputed and held 3 belts at LWW. Calzaghe was undisputed and also held a fourth at a different point in time. So on this point, Calzaghe CLEARLY wins. And that's before we factor in his trip to 175.
The KO doesn't matter. Foreman had great KO wins over Frazier. Ali beat him by decision. Who was the better fighter?

Good points. but you have to factor in one negative here: SMW was **** compared to Tszyu's divisions. Not that I'm a huge Kostya guy or anything.

its like asking why hop has a better resume than him
tszyu:
- undefeated Hugo Pineda
- bergman
- comes back from KO loss to win a title again
- beats gonzalez
- beats JCC
- unifies against mitchell
- defends against a credible opponent
- unifies with sensational KO of Judah
- defends titles a few times before losing to hatton.
not that im a tszyu fan at all, i actually like judah more, but your forcing me to talk about this guy so i had to point all the above out.
