horus and burner are avid mayweather fans, there's no denying that, and so am i, there's no denying this, and i don't care if they said paul williams should fight floyd, because many haters on here said paul williams would give floyd his 1st lost, just like shane would, just like cotto will, and tony will, unitl one of them loses, then it's goodbye to them. i don't see any posts about williams beating floyd now, and many haters on here said he would, just like shane as the go to guy for floyd, now he's out of picture, now it's cotto, so no matter who the best beats, there's always somebody left for him, and this is the way it's been for decades in boxing. people may agree with this, but rebuttal it by saying well, "that's true, it's always been this way in boximg, the best having to keep proving himself, like ali did, like robinson did, like srl did, like oscar de la hoya did" and they'll claim floyd is avoiding the best and fought bum champions like a gatti, or hatton, or old de la hoya(even though he called them out for years), they'll claim he hasn't fought any decent competition since castillo and he lost against him in their 1st fight, and aging de la hoya gave him almost too much to handle, so he wouldn't have beaten him in his prime, although floy dcalled him otu numerous times in his prime as he did with shane, as he did with hatton, as he did with fighters like hamed, freitez, cassamayor, winky wright at 154, cotto at 140, he called out gatti in 1998 and claimed he would beat gatti in 1998, and they didn't fight unitl 2005, what's that sayig. it's so funny how people claimed he ducked kosta, which he didn't, kosta was too busy getting his ass handed to him by hatton, he ducked margarito even though he had his sights set on the fight he wanted his whole career with oscar, and big money fights with shane and hatton, i mean, antonio margarito is a dead horse really. it's not his fault really, because he came at floyd when floyd wanted big money fights, mostly every fighter does, that's when their legacies and star power comes into play. tony has 5 losses on his record also. oscar had 4, but was a huge draw, and floyd always wanted big fights, he claimed it his whol career, which is why he called out so many champions like he did in their primes, but the fights never took place. what's that saying though? tony margarito hadn't made a historical legacy for himself has he? floyd is he better fighter, more skilled, faster, more elusive, many people on here claims that he would dust the floor with tony anyway, he fought oscar at the highest weight class he's ever fought at, when oscar outweight him by damn near 20 pounds on fight night. floyd beat him in a crusing manner it seems like, took some hard shots from oscar, never looked hurt, was more accurate, wobbled oscar a couple times, could have knocked him down if he pressed for it, and i used "if" because you guys on here claimed that "if" oscar used the jab more, he would have or could have beaten floyd, now floyd wants a rematch which is warranted to me, seeing how the fight was a sd, even though i feel it wasn't, and oscar was the champion, he is entitled to a rematch, and with flyd sr. training oscar, the fight should have a lot of drama in the buildup to the fight. i, for one, want to see the rematch, and want floyd to comtinue building his name and making more money, because he has has earned this. people want him to fight cotto, and so do i, because he'll beat cotto, this i can guarantee you seeing how i've studied both of their careers extensively especially at 140 and 147. but, floyd considered himself the greatest fighter ever, and while i don't agree with that, seeing how i have srr number one, floyd has all of the skills, the credentials, seeing how he became 4 time world champion in under 10 years, seeing how dominant he became in his fights, seeing how fluent his skillset is, quite possible the most gifted fighter ever, he is without a doubt, the greatest fighter of his generation, most skilled fighter of his era, most fluent fighter of the past 4 decades, this can be argued to the core, but only a fool would be blind to this. floyd mayweather jr. is a true champion, because he fights under adverse situations, he's no angel, but what he does in the ring is truly something special, a once in a lifetime type of fighter, like a roy jones, srl, ali, srr, mike tyson, oscar de la hoya, rocky marciano, etc. floyd stands the test of time, he is an all time great, and the best is yet to come, trust me.

It's about the double standard. It's about how ****ing ****** people look when they preach about PPV numbers and the like.
Thats another annoying characteristic of Floyd fanatics. Anytime you call them out on their hypocrisy, their blatant doublestandards, they take that as defiling Floyd. Its incredible. You can correct a Floyd fan by NAME and they will STILL say, "You're just a Floyd hater" as if these dudes are actually living through Floyd or something.

i usually don't disagree with cortdawg, but floyd's offense imo was better than leonards as well as his defense, because of how economically methodically floyd fights. leonard was a great offesive fighter with fast as lightning handspeed and good power, and fast footwork, but floyd without a shadow of a doubt, was the more accurate fighter, threw his punches from more angles, feinted better, had a great jab from 130-140, and could still have one if he used it like he used to. threw a better left hook, better straight right hand, and just sharper punches, and i can say this, because leonard loved to flurry a lot, and brawl also, but floyd was just a poised fighter, he didn't have to lose his cool like ray leonard did at times, and fight desperately, becasue of how patiently calculating his offensive mindset was. he is a 12 round fighter, and he could go 15 rounds easily no doubt, he's one of th few today that could of did that. his fakes were better, his combinations were on par with surgar's, but floyd went from the body to the head better than sugar did, because of how he positioned his upperbody which i always claim is one of the greatest upperbody movements ever. an example was the combo on gatti in round 6, just a flawless combo. sugar has more power and handspeed, but floyd just punched better and sharper, and that's saying a lot because sugar was one of the sharpers punchers of his time, and floyd threw his punches better. i mean, watch the justin jukko fight. floyd fought off of the ropes better, he was a batter counterpuncher, and went from defense to offense better than sugar ray did. sugar ray like a roy jones was just so dynamic with his offense, that many people would rank his offense better than floyd's because of how flashy he was, but floyd was more economical with his offense and that in turn showed in his punch output, which is why he's the most accurate fighter of his time, and the sharpest puncher of his time, i mean, he could throw punches fro everywhere, he's a intelligently thinking man's fighter, he see almost eveything, his timing is his secret weapon.

and yes, he is better overall than duran, and would beat him soundly.

I'm sure they'd have no problem with Floyd fighting Berto either.

                  Or maybe Mosley?

you're right, on paper, it wasn't about mayweather, but in reality, it's always about mayweather, no matter what the subject matter is.

preaching about ppv numbers may not be the most importnat thing in boxing as far as legacy goes and actual fighting, but it is very important when talking about getting fans to make boxing big again. it shows you how important a fighter is to many people, and how warranted a fight is, so it is very important to say the least. fights aren't just for the fans in attendance, ppv numbers in this generation are very important. boxing's a business as well as an artform.
