I would want to point it out because he was trying to belittle the fight as if it was some sort of joke. Lots of fighters are underpaid, that's just the nature of the beast unfortunately.

You actually can when comparing the history between both subjects in relation to the sport of Boxing. There is a specific fight that is one of the highest rated fights in Boxing history and it was billed as Mexico vs. PR.

oh yes we can. If we add up all the ppv events headlined by usa vs uk and match it up against the ppv buys from mex vs pr and we will have a winner. I think dlh vs trinidad alone beats all uk vs usa ppv events in history lmao.

if margarito is a bum why did he take so long to sign the contract for the biggest payday of his life?? why did mayweather turn down the biggest payday of his life to avoid a bum?? why did winky wright turn this man down for a career high payday?? any real boxing fan knows margarito is an elite fighter.

You then tried to slag Calzaghe's fight with Kessler so I pointed out that Kessler earned more than Margarito will. You made a comment, I offered a response.
and when you put the calzaghe fight in perspective you seem to forget that fight was also in his backyard. He didn't do so well here in the states against a us fighter wich brings us back on course to what this argument is about and we can safely say cotto/margarito is the most anticipated fight this year. and uk vs us is not bigger than mex vs pr

I'm not using it as an example of that though. Why are you even saying that? Please show me where I said Calzaghe v Kessler was an example of the UK v US rivalry? We are having a debate here and as the debate progresses other matters are brought up which are of significance to the overall picture though not directly related. I don't know why I have to explain this to you.

It is a good idea when mocking someone, or at least pretending to, to get your facts right. Kessler is from Denmark which is quite apart from the UK.

You can remind me of how "non-anticipated" UK fighters are all you want but you will then have to go back to my point about Kessler earning more from that low rated HBO show than the Mexican will from the upcoming "super-fight" between Margarito and Cotto which you still don't seem to have understood.

It's obvious that fight was great to you guys there in the uk. but not here in the states. The hbo ratings will back me up.

I think you're missing our points.

I'm not saying that the UK vs USA rivalry is more passionate or more meaningful than PR vs Mexico... but more people have an investment, and thus care about UK vs USA. It's basically a matter of population, and the UK all ready generally being very invested in their fighters no matter what.

mexico vs. pr is the greatest rivalry in boxing history because every time the fans are treated to a war between two great warriors. the european fighters are very cowardly and boring to watch and so are americans. thats why there is never any excitement for these match ups. no one wanted to see calzaghe hopkins or any calzaghe fight. i think he is very boring to watch. the world wants to see two warriors go toe to toe and thats what well get when margarito destroys cotto.
