Wrong. Cotto didn't sign immediately for Mosley or Quintana because of money issues. Arum tried to pay Cotto the same amount of cash he made against Malignaggi for the Quintana fight, and gave him a lowball offer for Mosley, initially.

Funny how posters are quick to label him as "scared" all of a sudden. When last year, a deal was in place for them to fight June 9th. A press release was even released to announce the fight...

MARGARITO AGREES TO FIGHT COTTO ON JUNE 9!

PRESS RELEASE: World Welterweight Champion Antonio Margarito has agreed to take on two-time world champion Miguel Cotto on a Top Rank mega event June 9 at Madison Square Garden. Bob Arum of Top Rank and Team Margarito made the announcement today. "This is the biggest fight out there for me," Margarito said. "I am anxious to get into the ring against Cotto." Margarito, the 'Tijuana Tornado' with a record of 34-4 with 24 knockouts, is presently out with an injury in his right wrist. Margarito, managed by Sergio Diaz and Francisco Espinoza, will attend the Miguel Cotto vs. Oktay Urkal WBA world welterweight championship fight on March 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If Cotto wins, a formal Cotto vs. Margarito announcement will be made that night.

Yet, Margarito backed out, to not only fight, but lose to, his former sparring partner. How easily they forget. Of course Margarito is gonna take what Arum offers him this go around. What other options does he have available?

I think now that >Floyds decision in leaving Arum was the right one. I now Miguel Will sign the contract based on pride, but if he have to take less money again, will go with GBP after this fight.

Excuses.Cotto`s not dumb, he knows what hes in for.Margarito is not a washed up 36 year old.Hes not coming off a 1 year layoff,2 losses a no contest and mentally folds after 3 rds.Hes fighting the Mexican godzilla.

Mayweather did`nt want to risk it either cause he knew their was a bigger money fight with Delahoya down the line.

        I don`t blame Cotto.

But i think his body of work at 147 is a little overated though.

Watch you people hold Cotto to a different standard cause to you people, Cotto could do no wrong.

                Hmmm...Cottto whats the problem?

I'm not sure if cotto wants to take this big of a risk at this point in his career when he could possibly make some money fighting de la hoya...

I hope cotto isnt turning into a barbie doll and waiting around for more money. I thought this guy fights whoever they put in front of him? Margarito is in front of him so sign the ****ing contract. Maybe he meant to say il fights whoever they put in front of me only if its a lot of money

                      Show me the money !!!

If anybody blames Cotto for holding out, ur a ****en idiot and have no Idea how this fight game works..

You need to get paid, reguardless of your opponent, every time u get in that ring, your putting your life on the line, similar to a police officer or a fireman. You can ask any of those folks who work in that profession and they'll tell you, your first time could be your last time..

Get your money Cotto and then go and smack that O off of Margarito and add an A..MARGARITA

Cotto's going to make Margarito his *****..
