So was Julio Cesar Chavez probably the greates mexican fighter of all time SO WHAT!!! Skill only takes you so far (not to mention cotto is not this masterful boxer) that most of you dumb ass' think he is. Styles make fights and it's funny how you guys down play margarito's "so called" "weakness'" When in reality his weakness' don't affect his fighting style. Antonio Margarito is almost the same exact fighter Julio Cesar Chavez was! JCC did just fine if you ask meAll Margarito hater can say is "he lost 5 times" well sugar ray robinson lost 19 times, ali lost 5 times, roy jones jr. has 4 losses, evander hollyfield has 9 losses. Im not comparing tony's skill to these guys but what i am saying is losing a fight doesnt mean ****. Especially when you turned pro at almost 16 and was fighting against men. 3 of his losses were before he was 18. The combine record of his opposition in those 3 losses were 31-3!!!
Now the famous daniel santos fight that morons bring up without knowing much of anything trying to use that against margarito. Daniel santos is a ****en light middleweight!!! Margarito lost the fight by technicality. Fight stopped due to a cut that was caused by A HEAD BUTT!!! Margarito was winning on one of the judges card and down by one point on another one...is that really getting his ass kicked like some suggest???Never mind that margarito is a strong finisher and could have easily won the last 4 rounds.
The pw loss was a blessing in disguise. PLus we all know who did the real damage and we all know who wins a rematch!
Cotto will have his hands full. Cotto fans underestimate margarito's will and power too much. You will have a rude awaking july 26th! This is a toss up fight with each fighter having an equal chance to beat the other. All this cotto ko'ing margarito talk is bull**** because we all know the only person being realistically knocked out is cotto not margarito! I hope he tax that chin!!! If gomez can make cotto's knee's buckle margarito could make them break!!! WAAAAR!!!!!!!!!
Ummm, I was at that fight and I never saw Gomass rock Cotto once..
So WTF are you talking about?Comment

JCC was slow but was not easy to hit flush at all, he would roll with punches, and he did not get cut until later on his career. Margarito head gets snapped back by punches, he aint rolling ****, he just has an iron chin, (and he gets cut a lot too, but they are slightly different skiin types)Comment

I said it is hard to hit him flush... (btw when oscar fought him he was done), you mentioned some pretty good fighters didnt you? Tony gets hit flush in ALL of his fights. you can add to the list some of the best guys he fought at lower weights like LaPorte, Mayweather and even Rosario early on if I remember correcty.Comment

Do you guys honestly think Arum would match Cotto against someone he could lose to and risk a huge payday against either Mayweather or DLH? I don't. Boxing is a business, and Bob Arum is one of the smartest and most conniving people in the sport today. He's well aware that Cotto is the superior fighter and that the public will see this as a tough fight when, in fact, it should be an easy UD victory for Cotto.
If Margo wins, he won't be able to make Margarito-DLH or Margarito-PBF, so he stands to lose millions if Cotto doesn't beat Margo. Like in every fight, Margarito has a chance to win, but I'd give him 2.5-1 odds, at best. The foot speed, hand speed, and defensive advantages all go to Cotto and I think they will be all the difference.Comment
I would like to see that, I mean damn I dont even recall Gomez hitting Cotto with anything that had pop on it.Comment

OK your taking it way out of proportion. chavez was slow just like tony. chavez didnt have the best defense but kept coming forward like tony. And chavez had a great career that's all im saying nothing more. I by no means am saying margarito is better then chavez only that they are pretty similar to each other. Except tony is a little bigger.
Anyway like I said I got your main point in the 1st post and I agree, but the similar points are just that they are both slow, mexicans and have hell of a chin. That is true for *most* mexican fighters.Comment
