Chavez was not Too wide, what a ****ing joke this thread is, Chavez threw short shots he wasnt no wide looping puncher like Tony get real, and he had way better footwork infact there are fights you can see chavez on his toes.
he didnt have the sloppy legs that Tony had you really can not compair these two no matter how hard you try Chavez was so much better in every area.

Now look this won't be no carnival for margarito either...cotto's gonna bring it... I just don't know about how well cotto will take marga's workrate mixed in with power and a good chin.

How many rounds can he run or counter without slowing down?

      Cotto could possibly outbox margorito...
I really want cotto to win bad so we can get this cotto vs. mayweather poppin already....But My boxing mind just doesn't see it that way.

Plus my true fear is that cotto loses and floyd has to end up fighting marg.

      great fight.. equally scary...

I agree with you. I have never said this is going to be a cake walk for any fighter becuase it's not. As much as i like margarito I don't like him at all in a fight with floyd. I actually think floyd can stop margarito on sheer counter skills and those freaking straights that mayweather seems to throw like lightning bolts.

Styles make fights and it's funny how you guys down play margarito's "so called" "weakness'" When in reality his weakness' don't affect his fighting style. Antonio Margarito is almost the same exact fighter Julio Cesar Chavez was! JCC did just fine if you ask me All Margarito hater can say is "he lost 5 times" well sugar ray robinson lost 19 times, ali lost 5 times, roy jones jr. has 4 losses, evander hollyfield has 9 losses. Im not comparing tony's skill to these guys but what i am saying is losing a fight doesnt mean ****. Especially when you turned pro at almost 16 and was fighting against men. 3 of his losses were before he was 18. The combine record of his opposition in those 3 losses were 31-3!!!

Now the famous daniel santos fight that morons bring up without knowing much of anything trying to use that against margarito. Daniel santos is a ****en light middleweight!!! Margarito lost the fight by technicality. Fight stopped due to a cut that was caused by A HEAD BUTT!!! Margarito was winning on one of the judges card and down by one point on another one...is that really getting his ass kicked like some suggest??? Never mind that margarito is a strong finisher and could have easily won the last 4 rounds.

The pw loss was a blessing in disguise. PLus we all know who did the real damage and we all know who wins a rematch!

Cotto will have his hands full. Cotto fans underestimate margarito's will and power too much. You will have a rude awaking july 26th! This is a toss up fight with each fighter having an equal chance to beat the other. All this cotto ko'ing margarito talk is bull**** because we all know the only person being realistically knocked out is cotto not margarito! I hope he tax that chin!!! If gomez can make cotto's knee's buckle margarito could make them break!!! WAAAAR!!!!!!!!!

but I did it anyways and I definitely see your points.

But saying JC was “too wide” or, worse, implying he lacks skills is almost criminal...

Yes we all know who wins in a rematch.............WILLIAMS.

No matter what happened against Quintana, Williams still beats margarito by decision and looks like Sugar Ray Leonard doing it. It's not hard to look like a decent boxer against Margarito and Williams showed that in the 12th round of their fight.

Sidenote: Comparing JCC to Margarito is a joke. That's like comparing Kendall Holt to Roy Jones Jr. Sure they fight similar but we all know who is more blessed and has accomplished more with their talents. Margarito is not on Chavez's level.

I ment same type of fighter in regards of pressure, work rate, and body work. And JCC WAS SLOW AND EASY TO HIT!!!! Like margarito thier toughness, body work, and pressure pulls out ahead.

JCC was slow but was not easy to hit flush at all, he would roll with punches, and he did not get cut until later on his career. Margarito head gets snapped back by punches, he aint rolling ****, he just has an iron chin, (and he gets cut a lot too, but they are slightly different skiin types)
