But there are no belts or titles to discuss.

Man to man - body to body - just a regular old fight.

Lee would do away with Tyson.

You think Tyson has enough speed to keep up with Lee?

Lee would probably be on his toes with some crazy spastic head movement.

Tyson would know better than to fight Lee.

Lee would know better than to fight Tyson. How can you ever be called a fighter let alone a great fighter , when you never won a title. He did fight some fights. Tyson would be able to hit Lee. Lee wouldn't be able to break Tyson elbow. It just wouldn't be out there. Lee has to come close and when he does Tyson would eat him alive.

To be honest (and I'm a fan of the prime Tyson too) it's like comparing apples and oranges.

Bruce Lee might not be THAT GREAT as what the media made him to be. But if your name is always mentioned in MMA forums and boxng forums, movies and video clips kept coming back......endless collectables,... books......MORE THAN 30 YEARS after you died..... you should somehow be good in what you do....

Hell i heard Joe Rogan mentioning Bruce Lee and his "be like water" concept at least 3 times during UFC events commentory..

Dude even Jay-Z who does nothing of combat or training is influenced by Bruce.

Mind you he didn't give credit but he said something parallel to the water quote.

He said, "The best style, is no style, you eventually fall into patterns and people can figure your next move out"

See what I did there? I didn't say which people and I was careful not to say "the majority of people" and so the statement is correct. Meaningless, pointless and useless, but correct. Just like yours.

The guy deserves credit and obviously was very highly skilled. But that's not the same as being the greatest fighter who ever lived.

I take people called hugh grant on boxingscene.com who say things like that to be a bit silly. Such people also rate my mate Dave incredibly highly.

No, wikipedia is not a reputable source. Go to university and write a thesis with wikipedia as your source. Try writing a history book and in the bibliography just write 'wikipedia'. They will laugh at you.

Wikipedia can be edited by anybody. It may have things on there that are true and it may have information that cannot be found easily online, but if the most reliable source you have is wikipedia than you do not have a reliable source.

People will forever argue whether or not Bruce was the greatest.

Just look at what he did for Martial Arts as well as fighting in a whole. He bridged the gap between Asia & the US and threw away the notion of the Chinese just being railroad workers and little weak men. he did all that just off his abilities and the way he expressed them. There hasn't been anyone since that's had that much impact.

He made guys like Chuck Norris, Dan Inosanto, Jhoon Rhee, and countless Martial Arts practitioners and instructors put away their own styles to follow what Lee was doing in the mid 60s.

Almost 40 yrs later people still follow his teachings that have been passed on to guys like Inosanto who now teaches everything from Ju Jitsu (which he just recieved his black belt in) to Boxing to traditional Wing Chun.

Is calling him the greatest fighter of our time to much to swallow considering the impact he had on not only the world of fighting, but the world itself?

I don't think there are humans dumb enough to do this.

Lets not go off the deep end here.

I didn't say Wiki was the end all be all of factual information.

That Bruces contributions transcend just martial arts and movies.

He wasn't just a movie star he was a philosopher in a way.

Do you know who Jay-Z is? Know how much money he is made?

I'd be a happy man if he quoted me or paraphrased a quote of mine.

A boxer is usually handicapped when fighting against a Martial Artist.
Lee was not the greatest the greatest fighter was probably an unknown Shaolin Monk especially since Shaolin Monks practice harness chi together with their fighting skills day in and day out.
If you are going against a person that can feel and even see energy building up in you before its final output (ie: punch) then you are at a disadvantage no matter who you are.
