  • Thats why when it's all said and done Floyd will be one of the greatest fighters to ever do it, if not the greatest....
    If you look at it.....
For People to consider Floyd being in a Fair Fight....

    1. The Guy has to be bigger than Floyd
    2. Cant be the Same Size Height and weight
    3. Floyd cant fight nobody Smaller than him under no circumstances
    4. Floyd cannot fight no bigger fighters in higher weight division who are not ranked at least #1 or #2 in the division...FOR IT TO BE CONSIDER A REAL CHALLENGE
    i.e (Pacquiao vs. David Diaz)

WHAT KIND OF STANDARDS are Those to put on a Fighter....

for example If Floyd fought Felix Sturm right now for the middle weight title I bet people will give Floyd ****.....Saying that this is not a fair fight....
not taking into account that, that would be Floyd's 6Th weight class and Him fighting The WBA Champion.. and also Floyd would also probably be outweigh.... by 20 pounds come fight night night..!!

The standards beset on Floyd are so unreasonable that If you even trying to mention to place those kinda standards on someone else....You would sound crazy....

    For example....
What if I say Cotto would have to go up 5 weight classes and get 6 titles
Mostly the WBC Belts while staying undefeated....

before I even consider Cotto to be in the same sentence as Mayweather.....

    Would that be unreasonable...
    Because Cotto started @ 140
so he would go up to LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT
and capture titles at all weights proceeding LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT while staying undefeated... Before I would I consider him a great fighter like Floyd....

How would Cotto Fans Accept those standards.......

But guess what That what Floyd has Done.......To be consider the greatest of his generation and P4P Best Today...

    He came from 130
    and has gotten titles from
    130
    135
    140
    147
    154
    While Staying Undefeated....
NO OTHER FIGHTER IN HISTORY HAS EVER DONE THIS....!!! NOT ONE

    Not
Sugar Ray L, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Bernard Hopkins, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell, Marvin Hagler, Aaron Pryor, Willy Pep, Roy Jones,
    Sugar Ray Robinson....NOBODY....

This is why Floyd Fans say Thats when it's all said and done Floyd will be one of the greatest fighters to ever do it, if not the greatest....

From the griany vids I seen of Ray Robinson and from what I know about Maywetaher..Floyd would adjust and find a way to beat him.
13 of those losses came when he was 40 +
Robinson would adjust to anything Mayweather could bring he was as fast as Mayweather, Stronger, Hit Harder and had at least as good of a chin and heart. Robinson equals or betters Floyd in every area bar defense.
Robinson was also much bigger being able to outbox the then light heavy champion for 11 rounds (i think it was 11 maybe more or slightly less) before collapsing from exhaustion WITHOUT being hit.

        • I would only be ble to judge PBF once he retires and doesnt fight anymore..One thing is for sure he has achieve more than Robinson but with thats easy to do these days.

          • Silly thread really.

In terms of skill, floyd is more advanced, you gotta remember floyd has been hit clean a handful of times in his recent career, which is phenomenal.

In terms of greatness, ray robinson is superior.

Boxing has evolved alot since then because of advanced training and fitness reigmes, who knows how good ray robinson would have been in this era with all the available facilties he would have had and the money he would have made.

I agree... Floyd is the more organized smarter boxer. But he has not fought the real threats in the boxing. He has faced some serious opponents, but he hasn't beaten all the elite fighters. And again Robinson did, he lost when he was out of his prime and in his late 30's plus. Floyd wants to retire at 41 (maybe more fights) fights. But Sugar Ray fought more than 100 without losing.

The comparison is seriously ******ed , you guys hold Floyd to high up. He is a great boxer but not the greatest ever... Make him fight more than 100 without losing than we can compare.

So, what you're saying is that because Floyd put on 20 lbs and fought a bunch of guys that really didn't match his natural size when he was 130 (don't give me this "he's not a natural welterweight" because he's most comfortable at that weight, or at least at jr welter) while posessing more advanced skills than them. He went up a total of 20 lbs (oh noes) and for some reason has only fought guys that are either a) smaller than him or b) washed up. He has a few matches that were decent, but who he has fought to accomplish what he has accomplished speaks volumes.

Call it beating a dead horse, but Roy Jones Jr. moved up a full near 50 lbs in weight (he started his pro career at jr. middle). He captured titles at Middleweight, Super-middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight. Mayweather was fighting a weight that was lower than he should have been at to begin with (not that RJJ wasn't) and he only ended up going to 154. He has never been one to take any real risk. He won't ever fight someone bigger than him. RJJ on the other hand has fought many fighters bigger than him, younger than him, some more highly regarded than he was (James Toney at the time).

That's just one person I can name that is much better in terms of history and ability than Mayweather. Let's not forget Hearns, SRL, SRR, Duran, Gene Tunney, Cassius Clay, Hagler, Willie Pep, Ezzard Charles, Joe Louis, Larry Holmes, George Foreman...those are just off the top of my head in terms of people that are much greater than Floyd in the boxing world.

If you believe what you just wrote...then you might believe also that
