I'm not ready or even close to ready to say Floyd Mayweather Jr is the greatest p4p fighter of all time.

I can't honestly say Floyd Mayweather Jr. is better than the Sugar Ray Robinson's, the ali's, the louis' etc.

infact if i were to make my own top 10 p4p fighters of all time list floyd wouldnt make the top ten to be honest.

And i dont like or dislike floyd as a fighter; i dont like his attitude but i have no bias either way but he's just not at that level yet.

Floyd has a long list of names on his resume:
    Corrales
    Castillo
    De La Hoya
    Hatton
    Gatti
    Judah

but thats simply what majority of those guys are; popular fighters.

    especially gatti; he's a name; a fan favorite; not a p4p fighter.

    He beat up a smaller ricky hatton;

he decisioned an older de la hoya that came real close from beating mayweather who is still in his prime (especially at the time of that fight).

    and so on.

he has to do more to break top 10 of all time (regardless of weight class)...

if were talking top 10 welterweights of all time i can see him breaking the top 10. but regardless of weight class he's not there yet...

Too bad he didn't have the dedication that Floyd had...

The truth is that RJJ is he most talented boxer to ever get in the ring. He might not be #1 ever in terms of accomplishments, especially after his ****** loss of 25 lbs of muscle, but RJJ, head to head, talent-wise, in his prime, is the best boxer ever.

By the way, Mayweather wouldn't be able to beat SRR in a straight up fight, and SRR has done much more accomplishment-wise. SRR was just naturally bigger than Mayweather. Any of the prime sugars (SRL, SRR, SSM) would beat PBF in a fight.
I'm not sure I understand this statement, care to elaborate?
I mean Roy Jones didn't do the most with his talent that he could have. I mean, in the ring we constantly saw a man that was unwilling to finish the other boxer, often-times blatantly carrying the other fighter through the fight (you can see this more obviously in his recent fights with Hanshaw and Trinidad). I don't know if he's afraid to hurt people or what, but we saw his devastating ability in Montel Griffin II, and it showed many times in his career.

However, if he had the dedication to training and to dominance that Floyd Mayweather Jr. had (have you ever seen him train? he might pick his fights but he definitely works hard when training) I think he would have looked even better than he did and might not have fallen the way he did after losing all that muscle. In stead he mostly relied on his inhuman athletic ability (which was the cause of his downfall).

I just think if Roy had the kind of dedication that Floyd had to training he never would have lost to Tarver and Johnson.
