Look its easy for your traditional MMA fans to think its so much better than boxing because they found a bloodsport that they like, and hey why blame them? perhaps they were just born that way.
But look true sports have guidelines, there are rules set, for example: MMA where are the rules? seriously you get to use Legs elbows back hands forearms Knees etc.. very few rules are really there meaning you can throw anything land pretty much anywhere and its a scoring blow.

Boxing on the other hand is a total differnt package, you only get two fist, and that is it, and with those fist you score and defend shots. not only that you are limited to the front upper half of the body. basicly your minimized down to just your hands to score and protect your minimized down to a small scoring area making it much more difficult to score, meaning there is much more skill involved, for example when a pitcher throws a ball just cus its over the plate doesnt make it a strike, it might have been too high or too low, that is why there is a strike zone.
No different in boxing you have a scoring Zone in other words and you can only use your fist to score. meaning you have to have good timing and focus to score, much less win.
so in other words, MMA really IMHO I whole heartedly think it sux to me its not a skilled sport becuase there are no real rules that make the fighters use skill. in addition in MMA you have loads of quick stoppages due to the fact they dont conduct any standing 8 counts, and in boxing a standing 8 Count is what has provided us with some of the greatest comebacks in the history of prizefighting Example: Corrales vs Castillo

    this whole post was garbage.

Shogun, well he did have an knee injury prior to Griffin fight, and was married two weeks before the fight.
But biggest shock to him was probably Griffin strength and size for a Lhw fighter.

yeah, i was pretty shocked Griffin pulled that off. So was Griffin, I think

          Not skilled sport?

Here you have knockdown punch, good old ground and pound and armbar to finish the fight when opponent wants to escape.
          All in ten seconds.

I don't know why boxing fans can't accept MMA?
I like both sports, and i don't want to compare them when i'm not forced to with ignorant posts.

Those are two totally different sports.
Someone likes MMA, someone likes boxing, and someone likes both MMA and boxing.
No need to disrespect each other.

What are the rules? dont hit in the back of the head? thats about it oh wait dont hit low either, what two friggen rules, my point is they have a wide open scoring area meaning you dont really have to have skill to score.
MMA Sucks proof is in the money they make.

You ever heard about guys like Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture???
I was exagerating about Sean Sherk and the last four bums you mentioned are now all ex champions. The ufc has nothing on boxing, you could take a good boxer and teach him some takedown defence and make him into an ufc champion. But you will never never be able to take the best ufc fighter and make him into a good boxer.

explain to him that when in an armbar you have three options. A. TAP OUT. B. somehow get out of it. or C. your ARM breaks..
