Users You Suspect Are Siding Along Racial Lines

Discrimination in the workplace is not the same as rooting for a person in boxing because of his race or nationality.Racism is much more then just hating someone of a different race. Imagine if you took that same line of thought over into the job market. Can you not see how it would be racist to only seek and hire white employees because that's who your comfortable with? That doesn't mean you hate black people, for example, it could simply mean you just don't think about them.
Other races have suffered too, but we don't hear about it.Honestly, how I read your post is that your aware of that racism traditionally flows from white down and your simply trying to level things by convincing people that blacks can be racist too. You have to take into consideration the past and present history of racism to realize that we don't currently live an equal society.

It seems in almost all of his posts, Canada Joe is able to slip in a comment about Wlad or Cal lol.Anybody who roots only for their own race is not a racist. I noticed at the fights I've been to, that black people almost always root for black fighters - but that doesn't make them racist. There are at least 20 members here who always root for the black guy, but I don't consider them racist for that.
Racism to me is hatred of people because of their race. The people who hate and constantly attack boxers because of their race, are clearly racist. Some people here show a jealousy of successful white fighters. There are some here who frequently ridicule Wlad and Calzaghe and others because they are white - the more successful a white fighter is, the more ridicule he receives!
This is because they deeply believe white boxers are inferior, and when a white guy wins, it shakes that belief.
Strangely, there are also some self-hating white people who love black fighters and hate white boxers.
I can name names, but we all know who the racists are..
I root for fighters of all nationalities and races. The ones I don't like are loud-mouthed braggarts and poor sports, and those of weak character. I detest runners, and although I appreciate a good defensive fighter, I prefer a courageous come-forward fighter like Calzaghe.
I like fighters with courage and heart in the ring, who walk down their opponents. Although I'm not Mexican, all the Mexican fighters I've seen have those qualities, so I tend to almost always root for them.Comment

It's not that different. If your willing to purchase a PPV, purchase merchandise, attend a fight, or even watch the fight on cable your putting money in this person's pocket based on skin color. This also means you may be denying someone success based on their skin color.Discrimination in the workplace is not the same as rooting for a person in boxing because of his race or nationality.

As far as the examples you've given, they're horrible occurrences but they are not relevant to present day US. The effects of slavery are still very present.Comment

So your saying if a black person prefers to watch Mayweather instead of a more exciting fighter like Pavlik or Margarito, and buys Floyd's PPV, then he's a racist? I don't agree. It's not that different. I think consumers' preferences can be what ever they want.Comment

Look, whites are the power wielding group in the US, can we agree on that? So to support someone simply because they are white helps maintain this instead of striving for equality.
It's your right to support whoever you wish but that doesn't mean there aren't consequences.Comment
