Joe knows it... he said it.
True, especially as he's ageing rapidly. Anyone who thinks this is a prime Calzaghe is deluding themselves.

who was a prime JC in your opinion?

My favourite Joe is the one from the Charles Brewer/Mario Veit kind of era.

That said this Joe probably beats that one. Weird.

joes kind of been inconsistant without ever being in danger of losing, he looked bad in a few pre lacy fights and even earlier than that...robin reid had way more of a case for being robbed than hopkins did in my opinion....im not sure hes on the slide quite yet....i could see pavlik being beaten far easier than hopkins or kessler...also has anyone ever looked great against hopkins....lookin sloppy against him is no case for anything, he has one of the most awkward styles in boxing history...

Aye, same for me. He still had most of his pop left and was mentally much sharper than the Eubank fight. That Brewer fight rivals the Lacy one as my favourite Calzaghe fight.

You're probably right though - current Calzaghe would edge the win on points. It's an odd one.

              Pavlik.
Joe could definitly have problems with Kelly, because Pavlik has a great chin, likes to trade, and has sick power.
A move to 168 could improve Pavlik's power and stamina, and it could spell trouble for Joe.

I think its kind of sad that Joe is trying to fight Roy NOW, when he was not willing to fight him in his prime.
I hope he doessnt think that by beating Jones that will "prove" he is better.

And its his fault that it took him 42 fights before coming someone of note.
Cal wasted his prime fighting B and C level fighters in his hometown.
                  What a shame.

Well, obviously. he is well past his prime.

He is 36 years of age and just look at Tyson at 36!!
