not really he wont get any recognition in america he already sweeped the supermiddleweight division and in light heavyweight no one will give him trouble
so he should just fight in wales after all he sold out that huge stadium he doesnt need the las vegas money
specially after that bs sd the judges almost cost him his undefeated record

i like calzaghe, i think he's good, i don't think he beat hopkins, but that was all academic, definitely not a performance to TAKE a championship belt away from the champ.

but i would like to see calzaghe fight glengoffe johnson. i think johnson would be the toughest fight for him, i don't think jones could last 12 rounds with calzaghe.
dawson doesn't have the experience, froch maybe? still gotta see about that guy, although he hits like a mule, still doesn't have the experience. and i think the same with pavlik, i think that pavlik just doesn't have the world experience yet to fight calzaghe, i think a 3 more world class level fights and pavlik will be in the right mind set and have some of the necessary experience, enough at least, to take on calzaghe, because you know, calzaghe learned a **** load of useful stuff in the ring with hopkins, but then again, maybe the hopkins curse will be in effect, usually guys after fighting with hopkins, their careers take a nose dive afterwards or at least their performances, just look at taylor to name one.....any who.

calzaghe's choices are somewhat limited, i think that for fight fans the best match up would be against glengoffe johnson...................

Pavlik would probably be a tougher fight than Jones, I think, simply because he's as relentless as Calzaghe, as refuses to give up, just like Calzaghe. Only problem I see is whether he can take all his power to super middle or light heavy, and whether it'll help if he does. Calzaghe has a tough beard. And whatever else Pavlik might be...he's very, very hittable. Also, while his chin isn't suspect (he's caught some real doozies and always gotten up), if he were to catch 8 or 10 flush shots while he's badly stunned, the right (or wrong) ref might stop the fight. Yeah, I know, Joe doesn't always put alot of force into his punches, but when he does, he's got good power. That, combined with his hand speed and work rate, could mean the end for Pavlik's unmarked column. For Pavlik to beat Calzaghe, he'll have to be much more defensive minded, and I don't know if he's capable of that right now. I don't believe he can KO Calzaghe, but if it goes the distance, and he puts in some serious work on defensive technique before the fight, a decision win would be possible, but in my opinion, unlikely. I think Calzaghe's speed and angles would just be a little much for Pavlik.

He should fight either Dawson or Jones. Tarver is the third best choice.

He wouldn't get any credit for beating Pavlik, any more than he has for beating Kessler. And if he defeated Johnson they'd point out it was Glen's 13th loss, so no credit there either.

id love to see him go out on something to really shut up his critics...to be honest i think glen johnson is the toughest fight out there for him....
To me it's not really who he beats, but how he beats them. Im an American and dont have anything against Calzaghe, I do respect him more now because he did pull it off against Hopkins, but what I saw in the fashion that he won wasn't too impresive. With me it has nothing to do from where he's from, but how he fights. I want to see this guy put someone on their ass, not have the fight stopped because of a slap fest on steroids.

Joe will never gain the respect of fans over here mainly because of the way he fights now. He used to fight better but the way he threw punches against Kessler and especially Hopkins are barf inducing.

To me he looks like a clown in there and it is hard to take him seriously.

A win against Pavlik would do it I think.
