This I agree with but Super Middleweight isn't exactly known for being an amazing weightclass either, infact I'd vote it one of the worst out there.

Hiding behind a WBO crap-strap in the WEAKEST division in boxing made it all possible..

Enzo is a good Boxing man but he was and remains to be a Boxing maverick. He allowed Joe to get away with the slapping because he felt it supported their structural aims. It seems the old man may have been in the right.

It is an embarrassment to the sport however, to have someone who fights in such a manner in a high profle role. I personally had a minor exchange with an MMA heavy bag humper at my gym over Calzaghe's methods. Now we get to listen to UFC yokels talking about puncing technique.. It's ****ing great, let me tell ya.. Thanks Joe. Thanks alot..

He ain't got power so he don't bother tryin to punch hard. He couldn't throw as many shots as he does if he threw with power either. And on top of that he needs to protect his hands since they used to get injured a lot.

Mainly to protect his hands, he could punch very well earlier in his career before he started to hurt his hands badly.

You can't have 32 knock outs by slapping can you?
He must have the p4p hardest slap in history then..

Anyone can knock out tin cans with slaps. Hell Mike Tyson knocked one out without ever landing a punch.

Anyone who knows a little about Calzaghe and who has actually seen his early fights will know he used to have excellent power, and he was well known for it back in the day.

Wasn't it Nigel Benn who said "I'd been trying to put Eubank on his ass for years, and Joe comes out and does it within 10 seconds"? It might not be exactly word for word, but he said that. Benn himself had great power, so for a fighter like him to praise Joe for his punch power surely tells us something. Eubank said "People think Joe slaps, but I assure you, there's steel behind those fists."

It's a damn shame Joe got injured so much. Many of his opponents would have been KO'd. Early on in his career it was rare for his fights to go more than one or two rounds.

So... haters will say he has no power and can't punch. These are opinions born of ignorance and these people are not worth listening to. The reason his hands are smashed up is because he used to punch so hard. I give respect to Joe for being able to completely change his style and still win every fight he's had for close to two decades. If you can't see by now that Calzaghe is a little bit special, you're a complete and utter buffoon.

Laugh all you want. Nobody really respects your opinion. I respect Eubank's opinion because he's been in the ring wih Calzaghe. Does it make you feel cool to talk **** on a message board about a fighter?
