Cotto's defense is far superior for a fighter with Margo's speed and ability - so if Margo catches him it won't be clean. Cotto will see the shots coming a mile away - Margo's 1-mph punches are gonna get countered all night - Cotto is gonna trade with Margo at times and his skills will make the difference. The glaring advantage Margo has is his height, but his style negates that factor altogether. He wants to be at close quarters.

The only thing that will stop Cotto is Cotto - he has to be in his best condition to counter the constant pressure.

Now here's the Quintana fight. Notice Quintana doesn't even land a punch, Quintana misses with a right hook, and the last two punches are a right by Cotto followed by a left hook. Now watch Cotto feet after he throws and misses the hook.

There's no denying Cotto can be hurt by Margarito, anyone who say different is fooling themselves, it's a just a matter of if and when(that's what makes boxing so great). I'm not a nuthugger, and I wouldn't be surprised(or care) if Cotto does lose or gets KO'd, It's just not how I see the fight going. Guess we'll just have to wait till fight night to see how this all plays out.
Dan, don't be a tard, bro. I had that GIF made. Me.

I used my eyes in regular speed.

It doesn't look like much because he wasn't getting crushed by a monster puncher in either case - but his legs still had a reaction. The difference between not much and nothing at all is a million miles apart.

Too much stock into it???? Cotto got WOBBLED by Alfonso Gomez. You need to introduce yourself to something called degrees of seperation. Once you get in the ballpark there is a big ****ing difference between a .22 and a .357. Remember that.

It's charming to listen to some of the optimists and fans talk like Cotto has the defensive elusiveness of Pernell Whitaker or something.. This is a guy who couldn't keep from getting hit cleanly to save his life. Against any opponent, any opponent. Watch the tapes if you're confused about that. Have a good look. There is absolutely no way he's going to avoid getting peppered up by Margarito. The question is; can his chin take the punches for a very good reason. There must be an answer for that.

Cotto has been rocked in the Corley..Torres..Judah..and Mosley fight.

I think Margarito throws more then Shane/Judah and weill land more because of it...albeit mssing some but still...

I dont know if Cottos chin can take what hes in for.

We all know Cotto wont dent Margaito..I mean he laughed at the hardest hitter in the division.....
I would ask if Tony can stand up to the punishment Cotto can bring.
Tony has never really been hurt, but Cotto is a devestating puncher.

I dont think Margarito has the power advantage in this fight.

Cotto's chin can hold up. Cotto will outbox him and beat him with great bodywork.

Love your stuff Addison but like someone else said earlier, either your reaching or maybe you are like Max Schmeling in this ***** and you see something, I just don't see it.. Same way you saw Cotto wobble to his corner after the first round in the Quintana fight, I didn't see it that way. I never once said he couldn't be hurt by Margarito, as a matter of fact I said several times he can get hurt and probably will.

We can go back and forth on this but it would just be a waste of time. You made your pick and I made mine, Come fight night If Margarito wins I will give you props for picking the winner, and I'll expect the same If Cotto wins.

Am I talking to a Cotto fan only? Is that what this is? I thought you were genuinely interested in the information and Boxing talk.. Ah well..
