i study economics at uni and have an interest in physcology, personally i think mayweather a complete **** but still have a lot of respect for how he can manipulate fans and generate interest (and money) for his fights, just look at this forum and u can see his name comes up more than any1 else!! mayweather made british fans hate him and so they shelled out to watch him fight hatton, would cotto do the same?? doubt it! doesnt mean cotto-hatton would be a worse fight just that cotto will never reach the ppv's that mayweather can, simple!

And if Mayweather and/or Cotto lost before they got a chance to fight, how in the hell would that have a GOOD effect on their fight?

Furthermore, this isn't a hissy fit. it's rational conversation. Don't like it.... Go to a 'non-discussion' forum. I'm sure they have plenty of those.
I ignore the U.K. sales because I don't see them helping American fighters pockets. So, that's not incentive.
Yes, De La Hoya/Mayweather would be a BIGGER fight. But, I'd argue that domestically, Cotto/Mayweather is bigger than Mayweather/Hatton.
how do UK sales not help America fighters? genuine question i mean does the money go to the Uk fighter or a third party broadcasting company or what?? surelt mayweather must get a lot of the money right??

I see. But do you think that's why the fight hasn't been made?

I don't know if Arum is willing to shell out what Mayweather wants. I also don't think Mayweather wants to put any money in Arum's pockets.

          Some things to consider.

As far as I know, Mayweather doesn't have a contract with U.K. providers. Therefore, I'm sure he got something. But I doubt it's where he got most of the money. Or even a huge portion of it, for that matter. I'm sure he'd of mentioned that by now.

He doesn't need to. Hearns and Hagler never would gain the attention Leonard had. But the fights still made sense and money.

That's possible. But, if you're gonna be getting as much money as Mayweather WOULD generate, I'm sure a money hungry guy like himself, can get over his feelings for Arum.

I think the reason it hasn't been made is because Mayweather knows it's possible the fight does very well, but it might be harder than he'd like.

                  What's this then?

It would mean a difference of 155K. BIG ****IN' DEAL. This is NO EXCUSE for Mayweather to ignore Cotto. None at all.

It's called emphasis. Is that your contribution to this discussion? Really? I'm sitting over here calm, cool and collected. Trust me, this is no hissy fit. A hissy fit would be what Floyd's nuthuggers do when they realize that it's quite possible Floyd may be ducking Cotto.

I've been rational to a fault, if you ask me.

But then again, I doubt you care about.. you know.. Facts.

That's quite an assumption. Especially since he's suing him. LOL. And trying to get Cotto to leave Arum by making comments about "going independant" or "being your own boss."

Trust me, it's a little deeper than what you're assuming.
