Whitaker was a lightweight until he lost at the end of his career at Weltwerweight to trinidad.

He also never fought a Floyd Mayweather who has that kind of accuracy.

You don't think that someone needs experience to sharpen their slip and slide defense?

I dunno about that. Whitaker had already whooped up on Roger and Jose Luis Ramirez with 16 bouts under his belt.

Imagine the Whitaker who embarrassed Greg Haugen taking on Mayweather at his best at the same natural weight. That would be a hell of a fight.

Also, Jeff Fenech beat Daniel Zaragoza with only 10 or so fights under his belt. Not a great win as Zaragoza was a better 122 pounder, but impressive nonetheless.

Whitaker also beat Rodger Mayweather and at 16 fights he had a belt at Lightweight. He won his 16 fight against Rodger Mayweather

I made a post earlier in this thread saying that they both can probably beat everyone on both resumes.

Cotto would have the most problems with De La Hoya.
Mayweather would have the most problems with Mosley.

Remember, the jab = poison to Mosley. Mayweather has a good one if he decides to use it.
good point DWiens, cotto did outbox him, and floyd is by far a more superior boxer than cotto. but mosley-mayweather would be a totally different matchup, in fact a match up of 2 almost similar styles. both men can box, sugar takes more chances though, while mayweather totally avoids risks at all times. and i actually think that mosley got better handspeed than floyd. and except for Judah, floyd has never fought anyone as quick. dont except mosley to approach this fight the same way he did with cotto. it would be a totally different fight. i got mosley winning convincingly.

now size wise oscar could mean trouble for cotto. but knowing how good a bodypuncher miguel is, and oscar's previous ko history by a bodypunch, the chances even up right there. plus miguel is younger, and i would pick him to beat oscar if the fight is made on December.

What? You do know Whitaker had titles at 140 and 147 right? Surely I'm misreading this.

Vargas put up a fight, but he was losing and was knocked out by De La Hoya.
That is not grounds to claim Cotto could beat DLH.

Does anyone think that Roger Mayweather was as good of a fighter that Jr. is? Shocking if anyone does.

Accuracy is the antidote for great defense. Mayweather has it. De Jesus does not have the experience to deal with it IMO.
