Cotto-Margarito West Bound, Vegas Caves In

It's definately good news in general. I agree that the 10's have hurt those divisions in Vegas. It's probably hurt Vegas itself, in terms of fights as well on a few occasions. I see it as a win-win for all parties to go back to 8 oz.Comment

I remember a poster a while back saying that Cotto fights with 8oz gloves instead of 10oz in order to protect his chin? He said that because Cotto has no chin he fights in NY and uses 8oz gloves and that if Cotto wasn't protected he would fight in Vegas and use the 10oz gloves.
.......true story.Comment

Oh definately, but that's the same risk that Top Rank agreed to in taking matchups with punchers like Judah and Mosley. It seems apparent that having the 8 oz. Reyes on their man is extremely paramount regardless of the opposition having the same advantage.Comment

Why does Top Rank suddenly want this fight in Vegas?
Wasn't Mosley a much better candidate for a Vegas showcase than Antonio Margarito? If there are other factors I don't know about - cool.
They aren't going to send Cotto into this fight without every possible advantage - besides, Team Cotto probably refuses to take a matchup without 8's regardless of where it is..
Here's my deal; I've been saying for awhile now that Top Rank is banking on a Margarito victory and I think this is one of my first big, clear peices of initial evidence. What good would it do to launch their new Antonio Margarito West Coast franchise on the East Coast? Why Vegas all of the sudden?
Now, I know this is all contingent on the size of the glovesbut the fact that they're leaping at this away from Cotto's 10,000 soldiers in NY has to raise an eyebrow or two, no? I know what's up..

Margarito refused to wear the 10's? Yeah, good one Arum.. Margarito would wear live chickens on the ends of his fists for this fight if that's what was required. This has everything to do with Cotto and his lack of actual punching power. I'm surprised Arum hasn't gotten the rules switched so Cotto could wear MMA gloves in the past..Comment

HaHA.. Damn, I have made soo many posts about this.. Ok, let's start from scratch and give the thread starter a few posts. First of all; tell me about alot of those stoppages. We don't have to worry about the cans in the very beginning - they don't count. How did he stop Judah, Quintana, even Urkal? Tell me about those "KO's."Comment
