Styles make fights and i have to go with Margarito to win this one. I was never wrong in my perditions for 2 and an half years, cept for Williams-Quintana and i'm telling you Maragrito will take this one by TKO. It won't even be close.

I would have to say half of the people picking Cotto to win are not saying that based on anything other than their hate for Tony.

what you dont understand is that margarito is a bad ass in the same way pacquiao is a bad ass. this man only knows one way to fight and thats coming forward and going for the knockout. same as pacquiao. and even though these men are one dimensional nobody can stop them.

if your going to make topics hating on margarito you should do everyone a favor and educate yourself. there is a reason mayweather and wright turned down career high paydays to face this man and i know they know more about boxing than you.
Haha hate Mexicans? I might as well hate boxing then. If you see me hating on any other fighters who are also Mexicans, then bring this to my attention.

Pacquiao is a badass against other badasses like Marquez, Barrera and Morales. He has proven that he can be a badass among badasses. So far, Margarito has shown that he can be a badass with Cintron and Golden Johnson. There is a huge difference.

You would think that someone like me who has been a credentialed pundit for 2 years now in the sweet science would know more about boxing, wouldn't you? I guess until I start praising Margarito, I never will know much about boxing, would I?

Funny how sensation ignored the fact margarito UD clottey. what other top 5 ww has done that??? *waits for the ****** excuses to start flying in There is no such thing as a perfect fighter. No fighter is flawless, closest to that would be floyd. and no cotto is not number 2. Cotto has his share of weakness as well. Sensations claims margarito has no defense and gets hit too much but his positives out weigh his weekness by a long shot!!!!! So in reality his so called weakness' really have no effect on him. Cotto has alot of flaws and im dying to see how cotto is going to hand margarito's pressure after he spent alot of rounds in the mosley fight backing up holding and running. There is a gif of cotto getting wobbled by gomez lmfao! he's knees buckeling and legs getting shakey for a split second. Cant wait to see how he reacts to a margarito punch. Reality is every fighter has a weekness or a few. margarito's weekness doesnt even affect his fights his positives overcome all his negatives. Tell me a fight margarito loss because of his weekness??? and you mention his 5 losses but forget to mention 3 of came before the age of 19. and the other one was a fight stopped cause of a cut against a middle weight in which he was winning on one card and losing by 1pt on another. The williams fight was actually a blessing in desguise!! believe it or not. He has upped his pressure and is starting fights strong now. Margarito know kills pw in a rematch and i dont know how you can deny that. Im going to bookmark this page and bump after the fight. And If margarito wins you have to give him all the credit in the world because to you guys cotto is god but in reality cotto is just another good fighter with his own set of weakness'.
I can think of better looking performances than the Clottey fight. I agree, Margarito deservingly so won that fight, but for the first quarter of the fight he was giving the game plan of how to beat Margarito. Catch him between punches, move your feet around, reset and repeat.

And on Clottey, I don't care how big people are on him, he will be a top contender for years but that is it. He isn't a world-beater by any stretch. He is what Margarito is, a good, solid fighter who is what he is.

I agree, Margarito makes up for a lot of his weaknesses, but doing that against guys like Cintron and the such is not the same as doing it against Cotto or Mayweather. Against guys like that your flaws will not be as marginalized as they are against guys like Cintron.

Margarito has been able to get by on his flaws so far, but he hasn't fought anyone so far.

I never said Cotto is God. I feel he came up a lot tougher and against a better assortment of opponents to prepare him to be a more complete fighter.

Just like Winky was on the outside looking in when all the big fights were flying over his Head Margarito is in the same position Now, So until he actually faces an elite fighter out there i wouldnt critise him that much.
Exactly, but no one was saying Winky was King Kong before he got his chance at the top and beat the man. That and he wasn't racking up losses that stagnated him at key periods of his career.

What I'm saying is that until he faces an elite fighter, I wouldn't praise him that much. There are people out there who probably think George Foreman is afraid of Margarito.

You're saying that his best win is against Cintron? Wrong, try again!

You talk about Tony having 5 losses in his career. How many losses does Glen Johnson have?

An elite fighter was put in front of him. His name is Clottey. Now, if Cintron doesn't get knocked out twice by Margarito, he is elite, right?
Josh Clottey, an elite fighter? Haha OK bud.

Margarito is a top 3 welterweight in the world. Period.

Whether that means he deserves you on his 'bandwagon' I don't know. But he does deserve your respect.
