Vitali Klitschko will not be available to fight until the fall, and the WBC mandatory won't be decided for months. I read today Sam Peter may be taking a voluntary defense.
Shannon Briggs wants a shot, Andrew Golota's name has come up, and surprisingly, JD Chapman and Travis Walker have been mentioned as possible opponents.
Who should Peter fight as a voluntary opponent this summer, while he's waiting for Vitali in the fall?
He would probably make the most money fighting Golota. For some strange reason the foul pole still draws the fans.Comment

Why not fight Virchis, who is high enough in the ranks of WBC and could make an insteresting fight? Dimitrenko is another great option. Unfortunately, I doubt that Peter will fight either one of those, Don King will not put his title on the line, Peter will fight whoever is with DKP.Comment

Peter would never fight Virchis or Dimitrenko cause they might beat him he will fight briggs because he has looked so bad, it shows no drive on behalf of the champ. Why not fight Virchis, who is high enough in the ranks of WBC and could make an insteresting fight? You forgot the poll ****cheese. Anyways, I hope that Peter does take a voluntary in the interim since the Vitali fight seems like ages from now. I think that a Golota fight might be fun, as well as Gomez or Virchis...Vitali Klitschko will not be available to fight until the fall, and the WBC mandatory won't be decided for months.
