Cotto just ain't he boxer that Floyd is and he is not on his level no matter how times u try and say it
You forget that corley had floyd hurt on a couple of occassions and went 12 rounds with him, judah legitmately knocked floyd down, and cotto put a real beating on both of them and stopped them. This isn't an argument on who would win between cotto and floyd, GOD you floyd fans just read what you wanna read, and hear what you wanna hear! This is a thread to justify that cotto is a big enough name to warrant a mayweather fight!!!!!!!!

      1. Stay undefeated (adding to his legacy)
      2. Make as much money as possible.

These goals don't include fighting the best fighters in his class like Cotto, Margarito or Winky Wright. Instead he will fight blow up Jr. Welterweights (Hatton), aging Welterweights (DLH) or weak title holders (Judah, Baldomir).

What you will not see is the money train (Team Mayweather) be derailed by fighting a good welterweight or Jr. Middleweight (Cotto, Margarito, Winky Wright).

If you want a fight watch a fighter.. if you want entertainment.. watch Floyd.
      What weight is Winky Wright?

Also if Judah is weak why did Cotto fight him more than a year after Floyd (when he had even become weaker) and why did he need low blows to weaken a weak fighter?

Because Cotto will "do what I have to do to win"

It's not about money or marketability. Everybody and their mother wants to see Cotto and Mayweather fight, so it would make huge bank regardless of how "marketable" Cotto is at this point. The reason Gomez-Cotto didn't bring in huge ratings is because it was a random, mandatory defense. People don't want to watch Cotto crush up-and-comers and never-were's. They want to watch him tackle Mayweather. Floyd wants no part of it. He'll "retire from boxing" just before the fight could be made where Cotto would force boxing to retire Floyd.

              1. Scheduling - did you want Cotto to fight him the day after?

              2. Can you prove the low blows were intentional? There are accidents in boxing. No way of saying he absolutely "needed" them. He would've KO'd Judah either way.

These Floyd nuthuggers crack me up. They sit here defending Mayweather for not fighting the best but for going where the money is and for being a "smart business man". The true boxing fan values a fighter facing the best competition out there not a guy who'd rather make money by fighting an old guy and a midget. Seriously *****s what fight would be better and more significant to the boxing world: Mayweather fighting people he already beat and will beat again or the biggest threat out there. I say again the true boxing fan values a fighter facing the best competition out there not a guy who'd rather make money. Do not call yourselves boxing fans if you're defending his actions. Call yourself *****s and in doing so me and a ton of other REAL BOXING FANS won't have any problems with you guys any more...

PS Props to whoever came up with *****s.

Floyd is 5'8 and winky is a lot taller.Winky is a very defensive fight with very long arms.If someone talked about risk reward this would be the time.Winky is good but not worth taking because he would be a big challenge for Floyd.

Lets face it at 154 though Floyd can beat a lot of fighters there, thats not his weight and he will be greatly disadvantaged

A fight with cotto is drawing near but not as big because The boxing regulars don't know cotto.

The difference is Cotto has not only fought and KOd Judah but he also faces TOP welterweights i.e. Quintana, Mosley and now Margarito. Unlike Cotto.. Floyd will not fight a TOP Welterweight in the their prime.
