Roy was ducking Joe for all those years? Here's a quote from Joe in 2003:

"I'm a big Roy Jones fan and to be honest, he's the only guy in the world that I really don't want to fight. He seems to be the perfect fighter and you just can't hit the guy. Look at what Jones did to Richard Hall who then fights Dariuz Michaelczweski and bashes him up for 11 rounds. I like to watch Jones fight and see his moves. He carries an aura that he takes into the ring with him. It's 100 percent confidence and he knows he's going to win. You can tell that he doesn't take his talent for granted though because he obviously trains very hard and keeps in tremendous shape."

It would be sweet if this fight was to happen in Vegas but I am sure it will happen on the other side of the pond, and it would also be nice if it were to happen before November, and I personally think the fight would be closer than most think and I think RJJ has a good chance of winning and its funny how people act when you lose a few fights and they run from you like the plague but if he does win then everyone will be back all over him like they never left, the professionals think he has a chance so who are we to say he doesnt , so I just say let them fight and we will see at the end of the night, its just my opinion.

This is why Joe wants him now. He knows he couldnt have touched him 10 years ago.

That quote whilst interesting, is one quote and too much can be read into it. Even post Hopkins fight, Joe and RJJ are mutual appreciation societies, they know each other to be great, and would be tough to beat. Joe saying I wouldn't like to fight him once, more means cos he knows it'd be tough. He also said far more times I want to, and will fight him. You don't always have to 100% like it though, cos whilst motivated, you still enough of a realist to know you could get hurt and beat. That's what I'm liking about these two now, already totally different vybe, words and assessments from both fighters.

              I'd pick Calzaghe now.

Where did that quote come from? BTW, Jones Jr. is by favorite fighter.

It was from an interview in June 2003 I believe, a few months after Jones beat John Ruiz.

Then, after Jones lost to Tarver, Calzaghe did a complete 180 and started claiming that Jones had been ducking him all those years.

Anyone who thinks Calzaghe had a chance against Roy or Hopkins in their prime must be out of their mind. Now he wants to fight them, retire undefeated, and say he fought legit fighters like B-Hop and Jones. Please dont waste our time.
