He would beat a prime Hopkins, not sure about Jones though.

Not sure I go along with that, I think while Joes hands were ok and he was hitting harder, he'd have it in him to make it close and possibly clinh it. He might not be as fast as stylish as prime RJJ, but hes shown time and time again he rises to big opponents, adapts, finds a way to win.

Also, he was quoted as saying he wanted Roy, ok it wasn't chased by him, and certainly not Frank enough, but it was out there, and Roy wasn't interested.

It's Roy that wants Joe whom holds the cards, he can have anyone he wants.

No is dis*****g that, but people saying Joe had been chasing prime Roy is hard to believe, especially for some one who loves his '0'.

Anybody with good vision including Warren can see that Joe's skills weren't that good to go up against a prime RJJ back in those days. They can pretend all they want about having called out Jones but the fact is Warren/ Calzaghe never made a move to America in an attempt to get a shot at Jones when he was the P4P king and undisputed light-heavyweight champ.
                  The truth.

You're so ****ing biased, it's not even funny.

He was knocked down by the 43 year old version, who only lost because his body simply couldn't give anymore. Hopkins showed that he clearly would have schooled Slappy if he was younger.

How the hell can you come to the conclusion that he would have beaten a PRIME Hopkins?

Dude it's an opinion, so yours. Whose to say whose wrong? It was a flash knockdown helped by Joe being off balance and being slightly pushed. Joe was up in equally in a flash and not hurt at all, nor anywhere in the fight really, he kept getting better whilst Hops got worse, due to effective punching and out classing/boxing.

There was a poll on here this week as to prime Joe vs prime Bernard, and I'm pretty sure Joe edged it. For me he would because Bernards best weapons and chances against Joe were his super ring intelligence, defence, and counter punching. Those 3 things made a close awkard fight for Joe recently. BUT, were no way near as good 3+ years ago with Hops, so Joe would beat him easier.
