How the hell can you come to the conclusion that he would have beaten a PRIME Hopkins?
It's simple really, prime Hopkins would've run less and clinched less. As a result Calzaghe would outspeed him in most exchanges. In the last fight there weren't any cause Hopkins refused taking that sort of risk. You know who Zaghe goes, the harder you come at him the more you get hit.

Well put pesticid. I think people get so rapped up in "prime" whatever would win without careful considerations of the facts and factors.

Nard would've come forwards more but would got hit way more, which would've suited Joe. With his superb ring intelligence, defence and countering, the post 40 Hopkins was his best shot at beating Joe.

You mean the more you get slapped. This fight is pointless. JC slaps roy, roy throws barely any puches. WTF is Franks Warren talking about saying Joe is the man now. Hes a hundred sports below hopkins AT and two hundred below jones.
