UFC is taking over

It doesn't matter...the UFC is crushing boxing in PPV revenue. Boxing needs to make some new stars, they have Cotto, DLH and Money May of course, and even Judah is a huge draw. Other then Cotto, the other fighters have a good year or two left tops, IF THAT, as Money May will leave and DLH will retire. And at this moment, they have no huge draw and for the most parts the big cards have been duds (last night, DLH vs Mayweather, Mayweather destroying Hatton) etc.

Those .gifs are from the Quarry vs Starnes fight. That Starnes kid (in the white) ran away non stop like a disgrace, got booed out of the building and will never fight in the UFC again.

I went to this place where they charge to watch the fights. Usually it was just boxing but now they had boxing and UFC on. Well this place has tons of screens inside. Usually you could here the announcers on the speakers, but since UFC was on, boxing was only playing on two screens with no sound while UFC was playing in the rest. All you here was UFC commentators and people screaming while they were watching UFC fights. What makes it worst is the boring fight from last night and the more than weak undercard. As soon as they announced the decision the two screens that had boxing changed to the UFC fights. What is hurting boxing is these weak fights and the undercards. I would have rather paid for last weeks Marg and Cotto doubleheader than this bull**** they put together to make money.

I'll take Boxing over UFC 100% of the time.

Where I live at, all the sports bars and bars show UFC and not any boxing at all. I called one of these joints and asked them if they were showing a PPv fight, they laughed at me and hung up.

I guess these joints believe that UFC is the future and boxing is dead.Its like the UFC is the cool sport and boxing is for your grandpa or something.

That's why I stayed at home and watched it for free. If you've watchend B-Hop before you know his style is not to crowd pleasing for the casual fan. Plus a couple of times I've went to a bar to watch UFC events and it just annoys me because most are casual fans who really don't know much about the fight game and are just there watching because it's the in thing to do.

yeah im not a fan of UFC, when the BHOP fight was over the main event wit St Pierre was going to start and I just went home. Its not like im against it but thats not my sport. I could care less about arm bars, and **** like that

It was HBO vs. PPV too. More people are likely to go out and see the fight at a bar so they dont have to pay full price for a PPV.

I'm assuming the thread starter is in the states b/c calzaghe isn't a draw quite yet and.. That UFC fight is probably the biggest one out there right now. St.Pierre/Serra is like a year rematch in the making. And currently their most compelling storyline IMO. And like this last guy said, you are less likely to go out to see a fight that's free on tv.

Agreed man boxing needs new stars instead of having a 40 yr old Hops fighting. Where are the days of DLH, Trinidad, Prime Jones, Tyson, man we need some of theses stars now, where is the new generation of KO artists

You made this up dog they didn't show a single undercard on HBO....

Also you can put the most exciting undercard but Most people in Boxing will never watch it,its always been that way they only go to the mainevent cause of the ********, the casinos are able to lure the fight fans into the slots,cards, etc before the fight.

I agree though UFC has really started taking over no bars last night were showing the hopkins fights.

Yeah I choose Boxing over MMA all the time to and I actually really like St. Pierre, but I would rather watch boxing.

Also here in the States pop culture is huge and unfortunately Boxing isn't part of pop culture while UFC is starting to be. It's amazing and sucks at the same time because people my age (Im 26) or younger only follow UFC (and there usually not serious about the fight game). The only people I know my age or younger that follow boxing are on this site.
