I watched the fight again and I could not believe the amount of punches Dawson threw with no intentions to actually hit or hurt Johnson but to simply keep him off by landing on the gloves.

Many say that Dawson was more accurate and landed cleaner but I do not think that's true, he barely landed anything clean in some of the rounds. Johnson however lacked the speed and the youth to make Dawson pay and lost some rounds because of that.

Glen Johnson is really underrated and he is certainly not your 'average' pressure fighter.
Sure he has a good chin but I'm more impressed by how he can defend himself while coming forward.

Johnson wasn't active enough for much of the fight and he was missing a lot. Although Dawson was hurt a couple of times, he completely recovered and went on to clearly win the last round.

Dawson was landing far more clean punches, sometimes three punch combinations. He was much quicker and more accurate, and his ring generalship was superior for most of the fight.

Shockingly, good post and its not because you agreed. Its because you are unbiased and even though you hate Chad Dawson, you admitted that he won the fight.

I don't hate Dawson. I was impressed by the way he overcame adversity and recovered so well after being hurt, and came back to win the 12th round.

This showed he has the heart of a champion.

Took the words right out of my mouth my friend. Close fight, no robbery, and Chad will probably face Glen again after the Tarver bout.

All close rounds normally go to the champion and the rounds that Johnson did win was close because Dawson didn't jump on the defensive when he was hurt, he was actually landing punches back and being competitive. Thats what made the rounds close.

I posted those rounds because they are the most entertaining, both fought like champions.

IMO Johnson also won rounds 3, 4 and 5.
That's debatable of course but Dawson's rounds 2 & 6 were close as well.

I do not see how the judges scored round 4 for Dawson.
He had some flurries in that round and his punches made a lot of noise but after watching it in high definition I saw that the punches did not even land. Oh well.

Dawson clearly won the fight but also showed in this fight his defense leaves a lot to be desired
