Dawson beat Glen PERIOD No controversy no nothing

Seriously if u look at the threads around here it seems like glen got screwed like always by the judges but i scored the fight 116-112 it was your average pressure fighter vs the skilled boxer
and thats how it usually goes if the brawler cant knock out the boxer the boxer usually gets the nod
no difference from this fight than the last espn showcases where mexicans pressure and the hometown boy gets the nod if the foreign cant knock out
thats usually how it goes for the brawler and its sad really but im used to it by now
imo dawson didnt got exposed or was overrated hes still the number 3 in the division behind ztoi and winner of hopkins calzaghe he still beats tarver and glen in a rematch
imo glen did as expected a tough fight for anyone but a gatekeeper still that exposes those who are dumb enough to get caught (roy jones jr tarver)

I had Dawson up by a round or two. So did my friend who watched the fight with me. I don't see the controversy to be honest. It was close, regardless. So many, are TOO quick to call a CLOSE fight a robbery. It was close, but in my mind Dawson took it fairly.

I had dawson winning too when I counted all the punches he landed on Glens Gloves. So get your squinty eyes fixed

I had it a draw. 80% of people on showtime website voted for Johnson though.

Dawson landed more punches, through more punches. Was more accurate. It's not his fault that Johnsons chin is made of iron. Other then a COUPLE rounds, John only won the rounds he hurt Dawson in. Which was about two rounds. I had Johnson winning 4 or 5 rounds. Bout it. Dawson took the fight. Your scorecard, in my personal opinion, is insane.

chad was landing enough he made a great work with his jab
maybe he landed punches on glen gloves but the judges usually count that as workrate and give the nod to the skilled boxer
just take a look at the marg p williams fight or the last espn with the flyweights on the main event

I had Glen takin a 7-5 split. I wouldn't complain about a 6-6 draw either, but even at that I thought Jouhnson could have possibly had 10-8 scores in 2 of his rounds. I could understand a draw, but Dawson didn't deserve a win.

Exactly, it was more of what Dawson didn't do rather than what Glen Johnson did. Dawson fought on the inside against an inside fighter and thats not the proper way to fight, especially since you are giving your opponents his only chances of winning because you are completely abandoning your natural height, reach and technical ability. When Dawson would actually box and keep Johnson at bay, then Glen was completely nullified and was barely able to land. It was only when Dawson would try to muscle Johnson was when he would run into problems. If Dawson would have fought Adamek like that, then he would have been knocked out. If Dawson fought Johnson the way he did Adamek, then he would have out classed Johnson and won by wide UD or late stoppage from accumulation.

There should be no controversy, Dawson clearly won. The scores didn't surprise me at all - I had it 115-113 for Chad.

Johnson wasn't active enough for much of the fight and he was missing a lot. Although Dawson was hurt a couple of times, he completely recovered and went on to clearly win the last round.

Dawson was landing far more clean punches, sometimes three punch combinations. He was much quicker and more accurate, and his ring generalship was superior for most of the fight.
