There are no double standards is that we know Cotto is better than Margo or Floyd. You forget Cotto can put on pressure as good or better than Margarito and can box circles around him. And in Mayweather's case Cotto can box as good as Mayweather and can pressure him until he crumbles.

Cotto is the more versatile fighter he can box or pressure, Margarito can't box and Mayweather can't pressure is as simple as that.

i havent seen cmonmang point of view on this. Im not going by a few people im basing it on the numerous replies by almost every cotto fan in the several threads about this fight. its not just one. quite being blind and trying to hide the truth. go read the threads you'll see what im talking about. Rogelio, I started a similar thread regarding this yesterday. A lot of people are saying that Cotto has always been a boxer rather than a brawler, maybe to hardcore Cotto fans who have followed his career since the amateurs could really testify to this, I on the other hand have not followed Cotto's entire career so I found it odd as well. But unfortunately we have a new breed of Miguel Cotto nutthugers jumping on the bandwagon and claiming that Cotto is the reincarnation of Sugar Ray Robinson after the lopsided beatdown of Alfonso Gomez where he chose to apply his good boxing skills rather than his usual bullying and brawling tactics. The worst part is that the same people who are jumping on the bandwagon said he could not box for ****, and he was just a pressure fighter that liked to ****, LOL, so you are 100% right. His speed or boxing skills were NEVER EVER mentioned on this forums after the Gomez fight, except for the hardcore Cotto fans who have followed all of his career. Incredible...

Margarito is a tough son of a *****, yes, but his attack is pretty consistent and can be beaten by a good, smart boxer who can handle that and fight smart. Cotto is not just a nonstop pressure fighter. He is a very complete fighter. It takes more than just a good boxer to beat Cotto. Cotto can beat someone in more than one way, and he has proven it. Personally, I think Mayweather and Cotto is a very tough fight to call, but I think it will be a combination of all that Cotto can do, along with his pressure, that he can use to beat Mayweather (i.e. his jab, timing, intelligence, cutting off the ring, etc.).
