his chin is still suspect to me. i was at the cotto/judah fight front row and cotto was ****ed up by them uppercut and probably would have went down if not for the low blows. his chin will get tested again by tony....you can go ahead right down that first loss for cotto... i'll take bets when they sign

I think Cotto's chin is OK at 147, not great but not as bad as some people think it is.

His chin at 140 was pretty bad because he had to drain himself to make weight.

I'll tell you what's improving; Cotto's defense, confidence, and ring intelligence. His chin is not improved. Chins don't improve, ok.

He got stung and slightly wobbled by a Quintana left hand, wobbled by a Judah uppercut and short straight, and stunned - and according to those who were ringside hurt by a couple of haymakers that landed high against Mosley. A good chin that does not make.

What he's doing despite that is what's impressive. Very.

Cotto handles punches just fine when he sees them coming. It is the punches he did not see that hurt him.

On that note, he seems more aware in the ring now. His defensive prowess has increased and he sees the punches coming as he has reverted back to a more hybrid boxer. Against Margarito with his million punches per round, it will be difficult to avoid every uppercut and see them all.

I fully expect him to get hurt in the fight. Margarito is a beast in there. This will be a good test for Cotto to see if he can weather the storm. I personally cannot wait for it.

This is Cotto's chance to make true believers.

It's paramount that he takes this fight.

His defense has vastly improved, his chin has improved from 140 to 147 though. Not to say his chin is very good, he can still get hurt pretty easily when getting hit flush.
