he should relocate nacho to florida, nacho's the only one who could, IMO, fine tune the cotto machine.

that or cotto should move to mexico.

I've been calling for Miguel to move on to a different trainer for years. He and his uncle have been together too long and there comes a point where you just can't teach a guy anything else because you've been together too long and taught him all you can teach. It's been time for Miguel to move on for at least 2-3 years. I wholehardedly support the move.

As for Buddy being the man, I'll take it. I don't think Buddy can do much harm. At the stage where Cotto is at, there is little a trainer can do to change what a fighter's been doing for 15 years or more. Cotto is set in his ways. Buddy might tell him to do this or do that, but it will be small changes, not big ones.

Buddy Mcgirt is the wrong guy! Freddie Roach would work Well with Cotto's Style! if he goes to McGirt he will just have a lackluster training camp and no discipline.
Or Pepe Correa I think he would be a better trainer then mcgirt.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

If he's gonna switch trainers, he should go with this guy.

Well the uncle must have been doing something right all of these years, I mean Miguel is a world champion and a great undefeated boxer. But once the tension starts to build in that way then I guess it's better to cut those loose ends and start fresh. I agree with Baya on going after Nacho, I think it would be an ideal match. If Cotto's training camp is moving to FL, I hope it's down South so that I can go and check it out Best of luck to Cotto.

It just that its a shame for the split to happen at such a time when Cotto has been looking better and better with each fight that passes. I think a change in trainers now will do more harm than good.

When I think of McGirt I am thinking of Gatti, Julio, Bojado, Tarver, Azdamek, Chambers, Malignaggi, Lamon Brewster. There are probably others, unfortunatelly, boxrec does not have trainers' records.

What stood out the most though was telling brewster to go for the ko when Brewster had a detached retina, while telling Tarver to try and survive against Hopkins. That's almost evil to us milk dud haters.

Yup, not a good timing at all, but we also have to agree that Evangelista doesn't fight Cotto's fights you know? it's Cotto's skills that have taken him where he is at right now, obviously Evangelista must be credited for his success but I think if Cotto finds the right man for his corner he could actually improve as a fighter. But again, definitely not a good time for this to happen at all.
