Nothing wrong with that, but dont compare him to Ali, their will never be a major movie called Mayweather.
Ok. that is kool. But even if he did bring attention to himself, that attention then goes to boxing. The same with Ali. He talked about HIMSELF, not boxing. He bragged about his talents inside the ring and what he would do to his opponents. In turn, ALI brought people to the sport becuz many loved him for his talking (and abilities) and many tuned in to see him lose. It just so happened that the world feel in love with Ali. Just wanted to respond when you said he hypes HIMSELF up. I am not comparing him to Ali, but I just wanted to show you that parallel from what you said.

Even if a movie is NEVER made called Mayweather, does that negate what he has accomplished in the ring???????/

I think the guy is good for boxing, I dont know how you can say he isnt ( well only haters would say that anyway) but for me if anyone votes for No!! then the same people have also defintely voted for Ricky Hatton... Because i think he is even worst to boxing than Mayweather.

Fact of the matter is.. Hatton v. Mayweather did less then Mayorga v. DLH when it should have and could have did more.
When you do alright numbers for such a huge event with a fighter as popular as Hatton this alone tells you that the people aren't buying.
Mayweather was boo'd in his hometown and maybe 80 percent of the audience was pro Hatton.
The fight gained as much numbers as it did because of the sales in the U.K. added.. they weren't paying to see Mayweather but Hatton.
Of course your gonna do well when you fight the sports two most popular fighters.. He still isn't doing **** for the sport.
I have yet to meet a person who tells me they gained interest in watching boxing because of Mayweather..
No you didn't say that Cotto was, but you made the statement about people not buying the product. He was boo'd and the crowd was pro-Hatton, you are right on that. But what does that have to do with performance in the ring, for boxing? I brought up the fact that he did those numbers becuz you stated what you did on the people not buying the product. But because he was boo'd, he isn't doing anything for the sport? If every one only wanted to see Hatton, y were not any of his other fights on PPV?

Floyd Mayweather is nothing like Muhammad Ali

Ali fought the best in his era for a start did'nt avoid the best ,he fought with way mroe courage & heart/determination

his witty personality and strong beliefs are just a few factors of why he is so reveared & respected

comparing the 2 really is hilarious

I've yet to compare what they accomplished in the ring. The only thing that I was trying to parallel was the fact that they both talk (ed, in Ali's case) about their talent and what they would do to their opponents. In that same light, they proved that they could back up their talk. That's all my from end.

what does his skill in the ring have to do with wether he is good or bad for the sport?
Hatton foes fight on PPV in his own country and sold out a stadium in less then 3 hours in the U.K.
If anything Hatton is making more of a difference in his own country then Mayweather is in the U.S.

I think his skills has a lot to do with it. Not just him, but anyones skills has alot to do with whether they are good or bad for the sport. Is B.Hop good for the sport? Is Miguel Cotto good for the sport? Is Pac Man good for the sport? If they are, then Y NOT MAYWEATHER?

Question, if wasn't as good as he in the ring, would you watch him?

If he is SOOOOO bad for the sport, y are people tuning in to see the kid the fight? Rather they are booing, cussing, and/or fussing.... That is what I don't understand....seriously. Help me with that one Devious. I'm not joking, real talk...ya diiiggg?
