He's good and bad for boxing.

He brings attention to boxing by branching out to different audiences, WWE & Dancing With The Stars etc., in this way, he's good for boxing.

He's also bad for boxing because he's the consensus number one pound for pound fighter in the sport but he's fighting meaningless fights, casual fans of boxing will turn away from boxing because of this.

I dont think he makes a diff. either way, if he never fights again boxing isnt going to roll over and die, people give him too much credit in my opinion. I think he accomplishes what he sets out to do, thats to earn money and make people either love him or hate him. But boxing isnt just mayweather. He makes no diff. IMO.

enough people have turned thier back on Boxing in the last few years the last thing the sport needs is a guy who shouts & hypes fights like he has the fighting style of Mike Tyson & Arturo Gatti and turns up and fights the way he did against Baldoimir & Dela Hoya ,all it does is reafirm peoples decision to walk away from the sport and continue watching MMA
