Usually experience molds character and mental aptitude, when you say "less intimidating", you must not be referring to experience, but the irrelevancy of what neighborhood one grew up in. Someone who's never been in a difficult situation will have a hard time dealing with one when it finally confronts them.
    Like Marco Antonio Barrera.

Point out where I said location is a factor in mental toughness and I won't accuse you of straw man arguments. What I remember is emphasizing experience.

Please, my man. Mitch Green was a big time street gang leader in Harlem. So wasn't Alex Garcia. Alex Garcia's gang background and all that entailed didnt help him one but with Teo got ahold of him.
Irrelevant and has nothing to do with overcoming tribulation and knowing how to deal with it or becoming immune to it as you are constantly bombarded with strife.

Are you suggesting that Barrera has never gone though trials and learned/benefited from them? I don't see much evidence either that Barrera is mentally tougher than Bernard Hopkins, I really don't. How old is he, why is he retired, and how old is Hopkins, and why is he still fighting?

I disagree that it's "in your nature". That's as if to say that firstly, Pavlik didn't have it rough (as far as his experiences) in one of the most economically depressed states in the nation, and 2., as if he's genetically predisposed to mental toughness. I don't get this argument at all actually.
It is in your nature, some people show more fear than others, it's programmed in your brain, there is fear cells and some people have more fear brain cells than others.

Again, I disagree. Americans as a whole are pampered and show much more fear than the majority of Suicide bombers in Afghanistan who basically feel that they have little to live for on earth. You aren't born tough, it's experience that molds you for the most part (ideology/outlook can play a role as well).

LOL,, and please post a study attesting to these said "fear cells"..

            • Ya'll should watch his behind the glory vid. He moved out of the hood at like 20 but before then it was all cereal with milk lifestyle. He had been to jail on numerous accounts and been stabbed twice. Thats no suburban life. His mum worked like 2 or 3 jobs too irrc.

              • Yes, EXPERIENCE can mold you etc etc...of course...but Hops is trying to say that he will not lose BECAUSE of the experiences he gained due to prison and the ******.... and THAT is nonsense on his part. SHEER NONSENSE. Like isaid to you before...Jermain Taylor is not a ******, gang or prison disciple...yet he beat Hops twice. So Hops EXPERIENCES in life that made him tough etc had ZERO bearing on the outcome. Boxing is BOXING... the art form, the skills, the style and the execution of a plan will overthrow toughness, anger, heart, viciousness almost every time

...Doesn't get any tougher than that.

^I don't disagree with that. You can be as tough as you need to be, but various factors come into play when winning a boxing match, including talent, so that goes with out saying.
