I'd be surprised if Trinidad was in the Lt-Heavy mix, based on his performance against Jones. I think he'll be at 168. He's too small, and not nearly as good as he was. He looks as if he's wearing down, and can't pull the pin-point trigger in the way which made him such an exciting competitor.

If he moves up just to gain a paper title then **** him like the rest of the suspect fighters posing! If he moves up to challenge the big dawgs of the division then much respect! I believe the former with a splash of DUCK on top.
He did lose to Calzaghe! Thats not a compliment either!

But I think he should've fought Miranda, just as a tune-up fight, because Mirandas got alot of power, but besides that he's no threat to Mikkel at all. Stop Miranda in the 9th round and then fight and beat Mundine in the states, go over to Canada and beat Bute, beat Taylor.. Just beat any super middleweight in the divison, he can do that. I'm suprised he's gonna move up, 168 could've been HIS domain after Calzaghe moved up. I can't really see the point of chasing him for a rematch if that's what he's trying to do. But clean out the super middleweight divison, move up and see how well he does in light heavyweight. He would probaly rule that divison too, I know I sound like a nuthugger LOL! but seriosuly, by the time he moved up, names like Hopkins, Calzaghe, Johnson, Tarver .. They're retired.
Kessler has a ****ed up back and a ****ed up hand, there is no way he could take on all those guys. Kessler can fight only once a year so he has to pick his fights very carefully.

175 is loaded but with names that are older. 168 is gettin loaded lately and there's money, titles, and exciting fights for Kessler if he stays at 168. There are some guys there that might be able to take him, but if Joe C is leavin for good SMW should be Kessler's for the ruling.

Most boxers fights 3 times a day.. Kessler fights 2 times a year, trust me, I am aware of that.
It dosen't change the fact that Kessler beats any super middleweight.

Totally agree. For me Kessler beats any SMW out there, and I would like to see him do exactly that. However...I think he probably beats virtually any of the big 'names' at 175 too, and if he can do that, whilst gaining more profile and getting big paydays, then I can see why he would want to do it.

I don't think the risk/ reward of facing Kessler is appealing enough to any of the so called 'names' for them to fight him though. If I was him I would stay at SMW, beat them all and become undisputed champ, just like Calzaghe has. After that, the 'name' I would target would be one from the current era(!), Kelly Pavlik, another fight he wins easily IMO.

Kessler should leave beating up the stars of yesterday to Joe Calzaghe, and focus on being the dominant force in the future of SMW and Light Heavy.

It's an odd one. In Calzaghe's absence he's far and away the best SMW out there, including anyone from MW who would come up and challenge.

If he's moving up on the offchance of a rematch it's poor management. Far better to beat up the likes of Mandane, Froch and Taylor at SMW and bide his time to pick up the belts Calzaghe will vacate soon enough. I don't blame him for dropping the Miranda fight as, on the mismatch scale, that was a Manfredo.
