Your answer will tell us who the Amateur is here old chum.
Your previous post saying Hopkins will be taking Joe to School when he couldn't school Taylor?
A guy who had just 23 fights prior?
      Are you ****ing serious really?
Never mind the triangle theory, a sad attempt there , I was pointing out that Calzaghe is not exactly an unseasoned Novice and has had just as much experience as Hopkins and he has been fighting men his own size to prove it most of the time and not picking on little men.
All these "Hopkins is a master blah blah..." its just **** and when he has come up against better fighters his own size who he cannot bully he has lost.
And he will NOT be bullying Calzaghe.

Read what I wrote. Joe is the one used to administering classes. He'll be in with an opponent for the first time who is equally capable of teaching lessons. How Calzaghe reacts to that is a complete unkown. Hopkins has fought a level and class of competiton as a Philadelphia fighter that is far more cute than the 1,2,1 throwers that Joe has had to tolerate..

moofo, spare me.. You are a nationalist fanboy. You aren't a fan of the sport. You were sucking on my **** when I was advocating for Hatton over Mayweather. :*******: **** off.
          Nationalist Fanboy?
          Man you really are Ignorant.
Considering I am neither Welsh....or English.
And I am not a fan of Boxing? What qualifies you to suggest that?
Because you believe Hopkins has Mad skillz and will school a seasoned Calzaghe when he couldn't school a 23 fight green Taylor?

How fast he learns is the question, because it's usually Joe teaching class..
I agree with this. Lots of fighters are on the slide once they get to 35, but I think Calzaghe has gotten better and his experience has been part of why he seems to have peaked late in his career. This has given him the edge over lots of his opponents but it won't against Hopkins.

If he drops his hands and takes the piss like he did against Lacy then he'll get caught. I expect him to stay disciplined, but then I expected the same thing against Lacy so...maybe he'll try a bit too hard to show off. I hope not.

By the way Moofo, tone it down a bit. Posters like yourself make people on here think that all Brits are biased and blind to the faults of UK fighters.

Hopkins is proven quality, and I think Taylor would give Calzaghe a tough night, win lose or draw.

While I think Calzaghe will win, don't expect the 100 punches a round or so he threw when he fought Kessler. In a sense Kessler was a willing accomplice in his own defeat.
The difference is Hopkins is better at controlling the pace, and mugging him when he has to, and sneaking in the counter short right which Joe can be hit with. I just don't think the power is there for Hop, but he's got enough to get Joe's attention.
I see the first part of the fight as being very tactical, and around mid-fight, I see Joe winning on workrate but not in any kind of dominating fashion. Thing is though, Hop schools lefties usually.

I think talking about fights like Jones versus Hop which is what 14 years ago? and the Taylor fight which was close and was before Taylor showed a lot of the *****s in his armour are kind of silly. Hell, Cal hasn't always looked great in some fights either, he's been dropped before and pretty hard by Mitchell but that was so long ago it seems irrelevant.

I see Joe winning but not easily. Hopkins will try to slow him down and control the pace which I believe he will do, but he won't win.

all the guys in this thread that are trashing either of these fighters don't know **** about boxing., this fight here is the elite of the elite going at it. the only thing i worry about is if bernard will finally hit the wall in this fight. father time gets everybody eventually. but aside from that your gonna see boxing at its highest level. i say bernard by split decision with one more career defining performance,.but i could be totally wrong. its a close fight

Again with this one dimensional Taylor nonsense..

Let's talk about my favorite fighter Miguel Cotto.

Fighters who should have been able to outbox Miguel Cotto in theory were not able to do so. Why? Because Cotto ran over them with brute strength.

Have you watched either of the Hopkins vs. Taylor fights?

It had nothing to do with school, Seņor.
