Thank you. Who is he of all people to minimize anyones opposition when his is definitely more questionable. While not a top 10 pound 4 pound fighter, someone who should be on your list is none other than someone who Calazaghe pulled OUT a fight with in Glen Johnson that Hopkins fought when he was undefeated that he totally owned.

Who has Calzaghe beat? Kessler? Gimme a break. Kessler is a basic fighter. Calzaghe makes so many mistakes when he fights. For example: Go to utube.com and pull up the Kessler vs. Calzaghe fight. Notice how after Calzaghe throws combinations he squares up to his opponent and puts his head down? UPPERCUT!! Kessler was hitting him with that all night. Calzaghe never even adjusted. Kesslers mistake was that he was waiting for a knockout. Hopkins beat a good Tarver whom nobody wanted to fight after he knocked out Roy Jones. Hopkins beat a good Winky Wright. Wright would blow out Calzaghe. Everybody thought Hatton would beat Mayweather, and Maccrenelli (another Enzo trained fighter) would win. Both got knocked out. This fight is going to be a massacre. Calzaghe is trained by an amateur. He has a good UNorthodox style which works against Class B fighters but he is facing a legend in Hopkins. Hopkins is nothing to play with. Calzaghe is going to be eating Hopkins right hand lead and upper cuts all night and Hopkins will take his punch output away from him just like he did Wright. Look at the record.. Wright who normally thru 100 punches per round couldnt find Hopkins all night. Hopkins threw more punches and landed more punches so dont believe the hype about Calzaghe landing more punches. You cant chase a lengendary counterpuncher. Calzaghe fans be sure to send me your comments the day after the fight because CALZAGHE IS GOING TO GET HIS BUTT BEAT. Go to utube and pull up Calzaghe vs. Byron Mitchell... BYRON MITCHELL of all people was the 1st person to drop Calzaghe.. granted Mitchell got knocked out.. Byron Mitchell is very weak and Lacy? Calzaghe is proud to beat Lacy? Lacy has ZERO SKILLS... NADA. Post your comments but get at me after the fight because I will take any bet against Calzaghe. Calzaghe... gimme a break.
KESSLER was a 2 belt titleholder, about 35-0 with very good KO power. UNDEFEATED, a VERY worthy opponent.
CHRIS EUBANKS was an EXTREMELY worthy opponent being the WBO champion with about 18-20 defences. HIS record was 45-2. He'd beaten NIGEL BENN twice, as well as several other world Champs, and was a VERY HARD MAN.
Calzaghe could fill ANY hall in Wales at ANY time, If Hopkins hadn't weaseled out of that fight, they'd have had 50,000 at the Cardiff Arms Park. This is where Calzaghe's first pro fight was held, (Although it may have been a hotel there). The Park's a huge place, the Welsh Rugby International field. Look at where all his other fights hav been held, at Welsh National Ice-rinks etc. They are huge places, seating many thousands. Calzaghe as an amateur had a stellar career, and everyone was waiting to see with whom he'd sign.
The British know their boxing very well, and they know Calzaghe is the goods. They fight a little differently, and don't do as much "blowharding" as we do over here, but when the quality's there, they pay good money for it.
Just my opinion, from what I've experienced.Comment

BYRON MITCHELL was the WBA Champion, with a very good record of 23-2 with 18 KO's, a very worthy opponent. in his previous fight he'd lost a razor thin split to Sven Ottke, which I was sure he'd won. As you know, Ottke retired undefeated, even though he punched like Malinaggi.

Apparently Joe Calzaghe likes the American singer 'Old Blue Eyes' Frank Sinatra.
A man down at my local pub who is a bit of a boxing fanatic told me that earlier.Comment

Then I'll open it.
Win? My ass. I watched both those fights (again) last night... on SLOW MOTION.
Yes, it was painfully boring because most of the time nothing happened. Taylor looked a little apprehensive but there is no way he lost either fight. Hopkins had to headbutt jermain to try and give himself an advantage. Listen, when you have to resort to headbutting Jermain Taylor, something is wrong.
Would Calzaghe have lost those fights? Not in a million years.Comment

No your not. Your talking bull****.Comment

All these Calzaghe butt smooches love to point out that Lacy was a champion and Kessler was a Unified champion. Well how the **** was Kessler a unified champion in a division Calzaghe supposedly owned for 10 years? Wouldn't that make him a paper champion or was Calzaghe the paper champion? And who was the real Champion when Sven Ottke was around because they both have 21 defenses in the same division at the same time??? It's all very confusing. You really have to understand ninja math to be a Calzaghe fan. At least Bernard Hopkins doesn't have anyone else claiming a middleweight title defense record at the same time as him.Comment

Fans say and do anything to convince others about their fave fighters skills or status. No matter wat u guys say, the facts are that zaghe never crossed the pond to fight Roy! The best fighter of his error! The names that zaghe defeated are nowhere near A class. Bhop fought one A class fighter and lost. so zaghe defeating bhop does nuthng for his legacy. he will be remembered as a european great! anything more than that would be an insult to the true greats of the sport. Your a zaghe fan, support your man, but quit pasting these forums with BS, u confuse those new to the sport. Bhop vs Zaghe = INSIGNIFICANCE!Comment

I don't think that fight would have been possible.
And I'm saying for the record Roy Jones would have obliterated that Calzaghe.
That JC, had not many fans, a series of below par performances, a young family (so he couldn't relocate), and a promoter who was becoming disillusioned with him.
Also nobody was interested in boxing here then.
It's having a bit of a comeback in this country, larger interest means more money to make these fights.Comment
