But P4P is a persons opinion on who is the best fighter , Floyd is the better fighter , resumes are only part of the equation .

Manny stepped into the ring at 145 ,, Floyd was only 4 higher for ODH ,,,, what about a Mayweather fight at 140 ,,, might happen down the road as they are right in it as far as weights go .

Yes but just because Pac likes to fight doesn't make him better. More exciting yes, but better no.

Now you're disrespecting Floyd. LOL! Marquez lost by 1 point and a loss is a loss. Pac didn't KO Marquez so Floyd remains the undisputed P4P #1 fighter in the world.

Obviously never going to happend, but Mayweather would win Easy over Pac. He would look like a bum since he doesn't have half the boxing skills of Floyd.

i just dont see how anyone can consider pac man number 1, he has many good qualities, but lots of flaws too many to be considered the pound 4 pound king, he cant fight going backwards for one, even miguel cotto can fight effectively going back, pac man has bad balance, he lunges in and has bad balance when put under pressure and pushed back, what is he gonna do when fighters can take his punches and push him back, probably get knocked out like ricky hatton did at ww, if im wrong il take it back only time will tell. On top of this he arguably lost tonight this thread is pointless, at best he is still number 2 and lucky to be there at that

No dear god no. Pacquiao didn't do anything to show that he should be over floyd.

Marquez is a big big win, but so was Hatton and Mayweather knocked Hatton out. There's clearly a gap inbtween 1 and 2.

Heck I could even see Calzaghe being at 2 now more then Pacquaio.

He will never be able to box well enough to broach a legitimate p4p list. He is like a bigger Jorge Arce, and to a lesser extent like Arturo Gatti.

Exciting does not equal skilled. People use to over rate Gatti all the time because he was exciting. Pacman is exciting, he can punch, and he is fast. He cant box, he is not very smart in the ring, and he is NOT a p4p fighter, much less p4p #1.

He just won a split decision over an old over the hill Marquez who used his brilliant boxing mind to control Pacman. A Marquez that looked lethargic in his last few fights and tonight.

If Pacman was a true p4p level fighter, he would have been able to pressure Marquez and break him down. Marquez didn't have the juice to deal with any pressure, but Pacman was simply not good enough to get inside on him, despite being in superior condition, being the faster fighter, being the bigger fighter, being the younger fighter.

He couldn't get the job done. A fighter like Jorge Linares would have put Marquez away.

To me, Pacman once again showed that while his defense is getting a little better, he still is not capable of mixing defense and offense, and that is the sign of a true p4p level fighter.

I don't think P4P necessary mean how well you box or how talented you are, but the fights you've had against top quality opponent in this case PAC dominated Barrera who was considered the top dog of the devision then went 2-1 against EM and now a win over Marquez and to me that puts him right up there.
