the only fight worth noting at 154 is against vargas and he lost to shane and trinidad just like oscar at 154.marquez and morales were able to neutrilize paquiao straight left and floyd neutrilized oscars left hook so why can't cotto

Actually, im saying thats not the kind of fight you take of you really want to force mayweather to fight you, come on now, ****ing Urkal, a shot judah who mayweather already beat, a clearly shot mosley, dont tell me those guys were better comp than unbeaten Ricky Hatton and De La Hoya at 154.

Links please? Cos Arum was not looking to do mayweather cotto after hatton, didnt you find it funny how he had the gomez fight sown up soon after hatton mayweather, because arum knew cotto wouldnt be fighting mayweather, even after the gomez fight arum isnt talking about the mayweather happening soon (not that ive seen), infact all the names mentioned were anyone from Mayorga to De La Hoya, not mayweather.

At this point in De La Hoya's career.. he isn't an awesome win at all!
Just look at his recent record! What he did in the 90's has nothing to do with now.. Yes, Oscar has one of the greatest records of boxing but he is no longer in his prime. So in recent History.. No, a win over Cotto IMO would be better a mostly inactive De La Hoya.

Weren't you the guy claiming Mosley was gonna knock Cotto out? and then Judah before that? At least Mosley has been staying active and raking up wins. No, I don't think Judah is a great accomplishment.. neither for Mayweather or Cotto.. Mayweather fought him coming off a lose c'mon now and he hasn't done ****. You can't say the names on his record aren't good at this stage of his career though.. You forget.. he only started boxing in 01!
Mayweather's career has 5 years on his...

]cotto is good but i dont think he is ready for floyd, floyds got to much speed and accurate punching and cant see cotto getting past his defence to often either.

Ok, Hatton got KO'd. It was more of him running into that turn buckle than Mayweather knocking him on his arce.

What the ****, this totally misses the point. Cotto fought....

Urkal (who cares), Judah (shot and beaten by mayweather, Cotto fought him coming off 2 losses and a no contest lol), Mosley (shot) and now Gomez.

Mayweather Beats Baldomir for the Linear Welterweight title, then moves up to 154 and beat Oscar De La Hoya despite the fact he came in at welterweight against a middleweight opponent, and then beat the undefeated P4P ricky hatton. The last two fights happened to be the biggest of the year and fights in which the public thought floyd had a chance of losing.

How can you compare the two paths, one is career defning, one isnt.

Listen fellas, Carlos Baldomir did not win a MAJOR world championship till he beat Zab Judah. His other titles were "International" WBC, yet Floyd fought him ANYWAY! Cause Mayweather knew Baldo couldn't catch him. Now Who is more deserving of a shot with Mayweather...Cotto, Cintron, Margarito, or Oscar, who lost against Mayweather last year, and according to WBC rules, you must come off a win to have a title shot. That is why De La Hoya is "giving" his "for the fans" fight against Steve Forbes, to get a Win, so that he can get a title fight with Mayweather. Even then, I wouln't be surprised if down the line Philthy Rich Productions (Mayweather's company) joins with Golden Boy "Midwest"!

dog gone it!! If only the best would fight the best...instead of the best money maker!

Cotto will never be ready for Floyd unless his ambition is to be checkhooked into early retirement.
