i said future hall of fame fighters AND very good fighters...

i wasnt implying they will all be hall of fame fighters...

Pacquiao is achieving great things to be considered the p4p best but i believe Floyd has to show something that makes him unworthy of the p4p ranking...like a loss.

I also think that somewhere down the line a catch weight fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is going to be needed.

Each fighter has beaten some great (future hall of fame) fighters and very good fighters in general...

        with mayweather you got:
        Diego corrales
        Jose Luis castillo
        Arturo Gatti
        Zab Judah
        Oscar De La Hoya
        Ricky Hatton

These fighters are VERY good fighters...

Corrales was undefeated at this time...
Castillo was in his prime at lightweight
Ricky hatton also an unbeaten fighter who is a very good fighter
Arturo gatti you can make arguements for but he wasnt a bad fighter...a bit raw but not bad
Zab judah is a good fighter
Oscar De La Hoya...the name says it all...oscar has done some great things in his career and considered a future hall of famer (rightfully so) and possibly one of the best of his era...

        with manny pacquiao you got:
Marco Antonio Barrera (a future hall of famer and mexican legend)
        Erik Morales (the unforgetable trilogy)
Juan Manuel Marquez (it was a draw the first time but look at it like this...he IS the number 3 p4p fighter...for good reason)

not as many good fighters as mayweather but he's only been fighting in the U.S. for what? 7 years about...

i think a top 2 p4p catch weight fight needs to happen eventually...

it would be great for the sport and it would be HUGE with casual fans...
Do yourself a favor and educate yourself on the great sport of boxing. MAB and Morales are locks for the HOF. JMM still has a little work to do. On Mayweather's side, only DLH is a lock. No way in hell Judah gets in. Gatti wouldn't get in based on talent or accomplishments, but excitement. I personally would not vote for Gatti. The rest are all borderline at best except Judah who is a flat out bum.

Pac also beat some good fighters before he made a name for himself in the US. Ledwaba is the main one that comes to mind.

No. That really can't be applied.

Ledwaba was Pac's first real fight against world-class competition and that was at 122. That's where he started achieving the WORLD belts. Not just the over-seas/international belts paper belts. Was he good from 108-122, probably but he wasn't/couldn't make a case for being the best.

Mayweather however at 130 was a WORLD champion and that continued up 5 weight classes. All WORLD championships. Where he was considered the best in the division. Of course it's argumentative, but he's been considered in every weight class coming up. That's truely pound 4 pound.

If Oscar happens to beat Mayweather and Pac continues winning then Pac def gets the top spot.

LMAO at the above. This doesn't even deserve a real response.

Who is the best fighter in the world right now regardless of weight.

Most fans and Pundits alike are universal in the opinion that Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter in the world.

Thus why Michael Buffer Announces him as the "Undefeated, Undisputed Pound 4 Pound king of boxing"

Because most sane people dont deny he is the best in the sport.

You've got to prove you're the best. Mayweather hasn't tried to do that in 6 years.

Do you agree that even if he's considered the best right now, he should still be fighting the best and proving himself continually? Do you actually feel he's done that at anytime recently? His blatant ducking of any serious threat in the welterweight division is sickening.
