If the contract were offered to Cotto or any other young prime figher, they would sign it in a heartbeat. There is your response to that.

      I don't see the relevance.

You're assuming all fighters would disgrace themselves to fight a bum like Tyson. Oscar isnt that much of a disgrace.

I wasn't responding to the original post so that would be a waste of time. Why don't you tell me what Cotto has to do with Oscar taking the blame for the fight with Mayweather going ahead?

Cotto has nothing to do with it directly....it's interrelated. I'm defending Floyd's choice to fight Oscar by pointing out that Cotto wanted to fight Oscar as well but ultimately the choice was Delahoya's.

All roads lead to O$car and he is the main blame like Mike Tyson would be if he were to come out of retirement and all the top heavyweights (particulary Wlad Klitschko) chose to fight him.

If you defend Mayweather for taking the biggest payday available to him then in order to be consistent you must also defend De La Hoya for doing the same. So either you defend the right of both fighters to choose the biggest payday or accept that you are a hypocrite. Either way, your argument falls down.

Cotto has more to gain from Oscar than just money, plus Floyd is ducking him ATM.

Floyd has NOTHING to gain BUT money...see the diff?

you will have a lot of trouble making an accurate analogy until you find a fighter who beat another fighter clearly in the eyes of the boxing public, but still pursued a rematch.

Yes I am assuming. Can we honestly say that guys like Samul Peter, Wlad Klitschko would turn down a big money fights against the biggest draw in boxing?

Absolutely not and Tyson would be the blame because he would then be using his position to make more money for himself even though he technically doesn't deserve a fight with any of them.

And yes, Delahoya is a disgrace. But I just like rephrase that term and call him *****.
