He didn't take it because at the time DLH didn't want a rematch.. he thought about it and later changed his mind. If you look at the post fight interview with Merchant, Mayweather is talking about a rematch even after he had won!

Well I'm a fan too. His fights are entertaining (I even found the floyd fight to be good), but this rematch is just not neccessary.

Both are a bit to blame, but Oscar even more imo.

Of course Oscar wants it, as he should.

I guess, but that shouldn't allow him to cut in line ahead of Cotto.

oscar does suck be we shouldnt just "be blaming all of it on Oscar". its a 2 person dance and Mayweather is just as much as a ***** for fighting Oscar as Oscar is for fight Forbes.

i find it annoying how all this **** said in this thread just doesnt apply to floyd. posters lose credibility making these kinds of arguments but excusing floyd for doing the same ****.

The general perception from a common fan is that Oscar has been fighting the best and never cherry picked his opponents.

This is not true. He fought who he thought he could beat and the fights were easy to make since he controlled all the money against these "great" fighters. From Tito, to Mosley, to Hopkins. No Oscar opponent ever got a 50% split no matter how great they were. He is simply a greedy bastard using his position to maximize the amount of money he will get.

And he is still doing it. He is making a big mess in the welterweight division instead of fighting guys in his age group who are just as reward worthy as beating Floyd.

If he beats someone like Winky, his greatness level goes up but he won't because

                  A) he will get less money

                  B) he knows he will lose for sure just as he will against floyd but will make less money doing so.

I'm not excusing Floyd, I'm just pointing out the double standard. Oscar is getting a pass for fighting whoever he wants while being praised for being a great fighter who fought everybody while Floyd gets **** hammered.

Oscar needs to be criticized just as much if not more.

that doesnt make sense for the simple fact that he doesnt have very many fans on this site.
