i dont think manny told him to swing like an boxer having his first amatuer fight...and besides...taylor knows better than to get into that...espcially when punches arent landing...

punches were landing silly. he didnt throw much wild punches after the ko. he did what every fighter would in that position. Kelly was hurt was he suppose to let him off the hook and just jab lmao. it was only kelly being able to survive those punches by taylor mixed with power punches of his own that won him the fight. It had nothing to do with taylor being wild in the 2nd round because that is not what happend. Taylor fans will use that as an excuse though but its far from the truth. They went in there with the wrong gameplan. Taylor did what he could. he did what any other fighter would have done in that same situation and go for the finish. Pavlik was hurt bad and not one fighter would have finished the round camly instead of trying to finish him off.

roger is not really commited to anything else but floyd. So for anyone to try to compare his other fighters is ****** because all his attention is on floyd they got something good going on.

wasnt stewart in prinz's corner when got killed by barrera? he was in taylors corner when he got knocked out, taylor was horrible under stewart. so was kermit in his last fight. there are more but i'll stop. Dont give a trainer too much credit when all they do is train people that are already great

boxing trainers are as important as NBA coaches. their skill is in knowing how to consistently motivate and stroke egos, not in actually teaching a craft.

if you made roger mayweather the boxing coach at the local rec center. or pat riley the coach of the middle school basketball team... they wouldnt get any extraordinary results out of the youngsters.

For those who say that Steward rode Lewis and Klitschko's coat tails, I beg to differ. Wladimir had just been KO'd by Sanders when Emmanuel picked him up. Lennox I agree with but to say he just rides coattails would be totally overlooking his efforts in the Kronk gym, both in the 80's and even today.
