Roger Mayweather : Best Trainer in boxing? Really?

Anytime talk of who the "top trainers" in boxing are today, I always see Roger Mayweather's name thrown in the mix, usually on multiple occasions. But why? Because he happens to be the trainer of the #1 fighter in the world today? Is that alone all it takes to be considered one of, if not, the greatest trainer in boxing today?

Don't get me wrong, Roger Mayweather is a hell of a trainer and one of the better trainers in the sport today. But who else, aside from his nephew Floyd Jr, has he taken to the top? The answer is nobody.

And when compared side by side to legendary trainers like Emmanuel Steward (Who's trained 22 World Champions) and Freddie Roach (Who's trained 20 World Champions), I'm sorry but Roger Mayweather falls far behind the pack.

This "Roger Mayweather is the best trainer in the world" **** needs to stop, he's a good trainer, and the only match for Mayweather Jr I'm sure, but in terms of accomplishments he isn't fit to carry Roach or Steward's spit bucket.

    i agree.

he's done a great job where floyd sr. has left off but i dont think that makes you the best trainer of today...

like you said look at steward and roach...they've brought up 42 combined champions.

    they show consistancy.

what happens when floyd jr really retires? will he be able to bring up so many great fighters like other trainers have done?

beyond floyd jr i cant even think who is his best boxer he trains...

you mean the emmanual steward that made taylor look like crap every fight he trained him in. the emmanual steward that made citron look like crap in his last fight. Emmanual has adpoted good fighters. Lewis and klitscho would be good with or without steward. steward is nothing special.

Steward didnt make Taylor look like crap, Steward told him how to look good and Taylor blatantly ignored him, and Cintron was transformed into a World champ when Manny took over.

I dont really like Roach tho

            i agree.

taylor made taylor look bad...steward kept giving him the right advice; taylor just didnt listen to him.

and cintron has made improvements since steward has taken over.

Roach has done a very good job with manny pacquiao keeping him the second best p4p fighter in the world...

Roach took over for De La Hoya and almost got him the win over mayweather...

he's done some very good things as well...thats just recently...

stewart gave him right advice lol steward was the one talking **** on pavlik saying he's a bumb and will be easy work for taylor. He trained taylor to go in and fight the way he did which just about caused taylor his career. Wonder if manny felt ****** for all the crap he was talking about pavlik.
