Anytime talk of who the "top trainers" in boxing are today, I always see Roger Mayweather's name thrown in the mix, usually on multiple occasions. But why? Because he happens to be the trainer of the #1 fighter in the world today? Is that alone all it takes to be considered one of, if not, the greatest trainer in boxing today?
Don't get me wrong, Roger Mayweather is a hell of a trainer and one of the better trainers in the sport today. But who else, aside from his nephew Floyd Jr, has he taken to the top? The answer is nobody.
And when compared side by side to legendary trainers like Emmanuel Steward (Who's trained 22 World Champions) and Freddie Roach (Who's trained 20 World Champions), I'm sorry but Roger Mayweather falls far behind the pack.
This "Roger Mayweather is the best trainer in the world" **** needs to stop, he's a good trainer, and the only match for Mayweather Jr I'm sure, but in terms of accomplishments he isn't fit to carry Roach or Steward's spit bucket.
